5 INSTALLATION I NSTR UCTIONS Unpack the Air Conditioner Remove pa ckaging materials ■ Remove and properly dis pose of packaging mate rials. Remove tape and glue residue fr om surface s befor e turning on the air con ditioner . R ub a small amou nt of liqui d dish soap over th e adhes ive with your finge rs.
6 P osition the Ai r Cond itioner ■ Handle air condition er gently . ■ Be sure your air c onditioner does not fall out of the opening during installation or removal. ■ The place where the power cord exits t he air conditioner should be no more than 4 ft (122 cm) from a grounded 3p r o n g o u t l e t .

8 Thermostat T urn t he THERMOST A T control to a mid -settin g. Adjust the air conditioner' s performanc e by tu rning the Thermostat cont rol clockwise for maximum cooling. For less c ooling, turn the THERMOST A T contr ol counter clockwise. Exp eriment to find the settin g that su its yo u best.
