6 General Instructions Y our W eber Gas Barbecue is a por table outdoor cooking appliance. With the W eber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bak e with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flav or izer Bars produce that "outdoor" fla v or in the food.

10 Figure 1 Step 2 Assemble wheels Y ou will need: axle, two wheel hubcaps , two wheels , wheel frame, hammer and a b lock of wood. Place one end of the axle on the bloc k of wood (or other protected surf ace). T ap on one hubcap . Put one wheel on the axle, WEBER side to ward the hubcap .
11 Figure 3 Step 4 Continue frame assemb ly Y ou will need: caster frame, wheel fr ame, f our 1/4-20 x 1/2 inch bolts, f our nylon washers and a 7/16 inch wrench. Place the caster frame onto the tabs of the left frame with the dimple to the inside. Figure 3.
12 Figure 6 Step 7 Add front panel Y ou will need: front panel and two plastic b uttons. T ur n frame assembly right side up . Inser t the tab on the narrow end of the front panel up through the slot in the frame brace as sho wn in figure 6.
13 Y our W eber Gas Barbecue b urner assembly has been f actory assembled, pressure and flame tested. As a saf ety precaution we recommend y ou chec k the bur ner alignment: a) Do the valv es fit into the ends of the burners? Figure 9 (a).
14 F rame brace Manif old brack et Figure 10 Step 9 Install manif old brac ket Y ou will need: manif old brack et Hook the brac ket onto the manif old at the center burner valv e. Place your hand underneath the brac ket. Lift the manif old, brac ket and cooking bo x slightly and hook the tab of the brac ket onto the frame br ace.
15 Step 11 Add fuel scale assembly Y ou will need: fuel scale assembly , two 1/4-20 wing n uts and two nylon w ashers. Slip the bolts on the back of the fuel scale assemb ly through the two small holes in the tank panel. Mak e sure indicator rod of fuel scale is on the left side of the wheel frame.
16 Step 13 Set LP fuel scale Y ou will need: LP tank (empty). Note - F or accuracy , the fuel scale must be set with an empty tank. W e utilize v arious LP tank manuf acturers. Some of the tanks we receiv e hav e differing top collar assemblies . (The top collar is the metal protective ring around the v alv e.
17 Figure 16 Step 15 Check that all b ur ner valv es are off Y ou will need: one burner control knob . V alv es are shipped in the OFF position, but y ou should check to be sure . Put the knob on each v alve . Check b y pushing down and turning clockwise.
18 Step 17 Check f or gas leaks W ARNING: Y ou should check f or gas leaks every time you disconnect and reconnect a gas fitting. Note - All f actor y made connections hav e been thoroughly check ed for gas leaks. The b ur ners hav e been flame tested.
19 Step 19 Install the bottom tra y Y ou will need: bottom tra y , catch pan holder , catch pan and one drip pan. Hook the ends of the catch pan holder into the hole in the bottom tra y . Figure 24. The fr ont of the catc h pan holder must be on the same side as the finger grip of the bottom tray .
20 Step 20 Install Lid Y ou will need: lid, two hinge pins and two hair pin cotters . Set the lid in place. Align the hinges at the rear of the barbecue. Inser t hinge pins from the outside. Insert hair pin cotters into the small holes in the hinge pins.
21 Slot in frame (view from belo w) Inser t one end of the hinge rod into the hole in the frame. Figure 29 (a). Inser t the other end into the hole in the swing tab le end brac ket. Figure 29 (b). Hold the end brac k et at an angle so the lower tab is inside the fr ame tube.
22 Step 23 Complete accessor y installation Y ou will need: W ar m-Up Basket, war ming rack, work table ,two accessory trays , three tubing plugs, thermometer and a hammer . Inser t one end of the Weber W ar m-Up Basket into the hole in the right end of the lid and the other end into the slot in the left end of the lid.
23 Lighting Summar y lighting instructions are on the control panel. Crosso ver Ignition System Note - The Crossov er Ignition System ignites the Front burner with a spark from the igniter electrode inside the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber . Y ou generate the energy f or the spark by pushing the Crosso ver Ignition Button until it clicks .
24 Manual Lighting 1) Open the lid. Figure 2. 2) Check that fuel scale reads more than “E”. Note - E = empty; F = full. 3) Make sure all b ur ner control knobs are OFF . (Push each burner control knob down and turn clockwise.) W ARNING: The burner contr ol knobs must be in the OFF position before turning on the LP tank v alve .
25 Cooking W ARNING: Do not move the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT , CENTER and BACK b ur ners as desired. The control settings High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.

27 c) Connect the hose to the tank. Slide back the collar of the quick disconnect on the tank v alve. Figure 5 (a). Push the male fitting of the regulator into the quick disconnect, and maintain pressure. Slide the collar closed. Figure 5 (b). If it does not engage or lock, repeat procedure.
28 28 Safe handling tips f or LP Gas ■ Liquid Propane (LP) gas is a petroleum product as are gasoline and natural gas. LP gas is a gas at regular temperatures and pressures. Under moder ate pressure , inside a tank, LP gas is a liquid. As the pressure is released the liquid readily vaporizes and becomes gas .

DO NO T OPERA TE THE B ARBECUE. Contact your dealer . When leak checks are complete , turn gas supply OFF at the source and rinse connections with water .
30 General Maintenance W eber Spider Stopper Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue , as w ell as an y outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the venturi section of the b urner tubes. This bloc ks the nor mal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow back out of the air shutter .
31 e) Remov e the manifold brac ket and unscre w the two wing nuts that hold the manif old to the cooking box. Pull the manif old and valv e assembly out of the burners and carefully set it down. Figure 14. f) Slide the burner assembly out from under the guide screw and w asher in the corners of the cooking box.
32 Crosso ver Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the F ront burner , light the F ront burner with a match. If the F ront burner lights with a match, then check the Crosso ver Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white and b lack ignition wires are attached properly .
33 33 Prob lem Burners b urn with a yello w or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Burners do not light. -or - Burners ha ve a small flickering flame in the HIGH position. -or- Barbecue temperature only reaches 250˚ to 300˚ degrees in the HIGH position.
