01 Safety Seat belts 01 18 Seat belt use during pregnancy G020998 The seat belt should always be worn during pregnancy. But it is crucial that it be worn in the correct way. The diagonal section should wrap over the shoulder then be routed between the breasts and to the side of the belly.

01 Safety Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) 01 22 NOTE • Deployment of front airbags occurs only one time during an accident. In a colli- sion where deployment occurs, the air- bags and seat belt pretensioners acti- vate. Some noise occurs and a small amount of powder is released.

01 Safety Child safety 01 `` 35 Children should be seated safely Volvo recommends the proper use of restraint systems for all occupants including children. Remember that, regardless of age and size, a child should always be properly restrained in a vehicle.

You must register your child restraint to be reached in a recall. 02 Locks and alarm Remote key and key blade 02 54 Introduction Two remote keys or optional Personal Car Communicators (PCC) are provided with your vehicle. They enable you to unlock the doors and tailgate, and also function as ignition keys to start the vehicle or operate electrical com- ponents.

Emergency Brake Assistance EBA is designed to provide full brake effect immediately in the event of sudden, hard brak- ing. The system is activated by the speed with which the brake pedal is depressed.
