Overview 2 ViewCast System requ irements The following sys tem requirements r elate to your Ospr ey® v ideo captu re card only. The vide o capture or encoding applications you use will likely r equire a much more powerful system than that which is listed bel ow.
Osprey 240e/450e Use r Guide ViewCast 3 Installation Steps In all cases, use the s etup.exe progra m on the product CD or in the web pac kage if you downloaded it . The setup progra m automates th e Plug and Play steps needed t o install the driver s and ensures they are performed corr ectly.

Setting Driver Properties 20 ViewCast The Video Proc Amp tab has the following controls. Brightness and Contrast These are ter ms for what one w ould call a contrast ra tio. It’s a measur e of a display system, defined as the ratio of the brightest color (wh ite) to that of th e darkest color (black) that the sys tem is capab le of producing.

We discussed NTSC while discussing the Input tab . PAL and SECAM are standards used in Eur ope and other parts of th e world.

Osprey 240e/450e Use r Guide ViewCast 35 Motion adaptive deinterlace Motion adaptive dein terlace is an alg orithm for deinte rlacing pure video (non-telecine) content. It detects which porti ons of the image are still, and which portions are in motion, a nd applies different processing to each.

Note: When the driv er is using the Inve rse Telecine algorithm, either in Telecin e mode or Auto mode, the Adjust settings have no effect at all, and Tes t Mode is inoperative.

It enable s and disables cr opping, and sets th e cropping area . Cropping means re moval of unwanted vid eo around the edg es of the incoming image.
