10 Basic Opera tion ︱ Charging the Battery Remove the MP320 ‟ s cap and p lug its U SB conn ector directly into an availa ble USB port on y our deskt op or notebook com puter . The MP320 ‟ s intern al Li -io n battery will begin ch arging. Figure 3.
11 Play a Son g Press to play the currently selec ted MP3, W MA , or WA V t rack. Pause a Song Press to pause and un-paus e a track duri ng playback. Next T rack Press to ski p to the next available song. Prev ious T rack Press to go back to the previ ous song.

13 MUS IC Mode ︱ Before buying DR M (Digi t a l Ri ght s Management ) protected m usi c onli ne, please be advis ed that the M P320 only s upport s WMA-DRM 10 fi le protection. Playin g MP3, WMA , or WMA-DRM10 Music 1. Press and hold the button to power ON the M P320.
14 2. Select either “ M y Playlist ” or an importe d playlist f i le (if availabl e) and pres s . 3. Use t he and bu ttons t o move up and down t he li st of availabl e songs. 18 RECORD M ode ︱ The MP3 20 can r ecord f rom 2 different sources: the FM Radio or t he bu ilt-in micr ophone. The REC ORD mode is f or creating voice recordings and playing back both FM a nd voice recordings. T o reco rd f rom the FM Radio , please s ee the previous s ection on “ R ecordi ng the Radio .

22 Record Settings Record Quality The q uality o f an a udio rec ording can be s et t o Low (8, 000Hz) , M edium ( 16 ,000Hz) , or H igh ( 32 ,000Hz ). Higher recordi ng quality setti ngs require m ore memory sp ace to save the record ed WA V f iles. 1.
23 VAD (Voice Activity Detect io n) V AD allows the M P320 to make gapless v oice rec ordings. T his m e ans during v oice r ecor ding wi th th e intern al microphone, the play er will only record wh en it detects voic es.

27 Mu sic T ransfer Protocol (MTP) If y ou own W MA-DRM 1 0 m usic f iles o r i f you wa nt to use W indows Media Player 10 to synchroni ze music between y our c omp uter a nd th e M P320, the Music T ransfer P rotoc ol (M TP) must be enabled. This setting lets you switch betwe en M TP or USB trans fer modes.
28 Driver I nstallation ︱ Driv er Insta llation for Windows ® Me , 2000 , XP an d Vista No drivers a re re quired. Th ese W indows ® Operati ng Syst ems have built-in drivers t o s upport the M P320. Pl ug your M P320 i nto an available US B p ort and W ind ows ® will install the n ecessary f ile s.
29 Co nnecting t o a Comp uter ︱ If you are using Windows Media P lay er 10 a nd want to play W MA -DRM 10 musi c f iles , you mus t set the M P320 ’ s Musi c T ransfer Mod e to M T P to transf er and synchroni ze mus ic files between the com puter and your M P320.
