7 A note on the type of energy used by your Microwave Oven Microwaves are electromagnetic waves that transmit energy. When cooking, the microwave energy penetrates food to a depth of 4cm (1½ inches), causing its molecules to vibrate. The heat produced by this friction enables food to be heated, cooked or defrosted.

11 PLEASE REMEMBER: NOT AL L FOODS AND UTENSILS ARE SUITABLE for use in MICROWAVE OVENS. FOODS THAT MUST NEVER BE MICROWAVED: o Eggs in their shell or whole hard-boiled eggs since they may explode, even after your Microwave has stopped heating them.
12 You can reduce the chances of this happening further by 1. Avoiding using straight-sided containers with narrow necks. 2. Not overheating. 3. Stirring the liquid before placin g the container in the oven and again halfway through the heating time. 4.
13 Materials that you CAN use in your microwave: Utensil Remarks Browning dish Follow manufacturer’s instructions. The bottom of the browning dish must be at least 3/16 ths inch (5mm) above the turntable. Incorrect us age may cause the turntable to break.

15 Before you start using your Micr owave, you may want to set the time on the Clock and Preset times for cooking. Your Microwave operates on a 24-ho ur clock setting (0:00-23:59). Clock setting – For example, to set time as ‘12:12’ 1) When you initially plug your Microwave Oven in, you’ll see the LED showing ‘0:00’.
16 Your Baumatic Microwave Oven features a Grilling and Combination mode. In grilling, heat comes from an element set in the ceiling. This is particularly suitable for toasting & grilli ng (eg. Steaks & sausages). In Combination Mode, both the microwav e and grilling modes will function.
17 You cook with your Microwave Oven by first choosing a Power Level and then setting the time you need to cook for. o To set the Cooking Power you’d like to use, you need to press the ‘Power Level’ key one or more times. o You have five different powers available to you.
18 * NOTE: If you want to stop cooking after you have set a cooking program, just open the door and the door safety system will turn the microwave off. Speedy cooking • Pressin g the ‘ ’ key once when the microwave is not running will start your microwave cooking at 100% power for 30 seconds.
19 Speedy Defrost For example, to defrost 500g of beef : 1) Press ‘ ’. 2) Press ‘5’, ‘0’, ‘0’ in that order. 3) Press ‘ ’ to start defrosting. * Note: Time needed for defros ting using the Speedy Defrost function is less than that of ‘Def rost by weight’ for the food with the same weight.

21 Grilling 1) Press the ‘ ’ key once; the LED will display ‘G-1’ to indicate that the grilling function has been selected. 2) Set the cooking time; Example : To set 12 minutes 50 seconds, press ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘5’, ‘0’. 3) Press ‘ ’to start cooking.
22 Your Microwave has a DELAY START feature that means you can set a cooking program in the future so you can be assure d of hot food when you want it. How to use the DELAY START Function : For example : to start cooking at 12:12: 1) Set the cooking program you want – see previous pages.
23 Checking Function : Checking Cooking Power during cooking • While your Microwave is cooking, you can check the strength you’re using to cook with by pressing the ‘ ’ button. • The current Microwave power will be shown for 3 seconds. The Oven will then turn back to the timer display.
24 Stop 1) If your Microwave Oven is running, press ‘Stop’ to pause it. Press ‘Start’ to continue operating. Press ‘Stop’ twice to stop operating.
25 Child-lock Function To prevent children from using your Microwave Oven, do the following (while the Microwave is NOT running): To Lock : Press ‘ ’ and hold for 3 seconds. After a long ‘beep’, the display will show ‘ ’. This means that your Microwave is now locked.
26 1 Always keep the door seal surfaces clean! o You can do this by wiping them down regularly with a damp cloth so that any gre ase, food debris or spatters will not build up. o THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AS LETTING SUCH SUBSTANCES COLLECT CAN RESULT IN LEAKAGE OF MICROWAVE ENERGY FROM YOUR OVEN.
