1 Chapter 1 Introduction About This Manual This manual is intended to provide guidance for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your T ally T8006e printer . Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use of the printer . Keep the CD-R OM in a safe place, where it can be retriev ed readily when needed.

Chapter 1 Introdu ction 3 Printer Components Control P anel keys and indicator lights allow you to control and monitor printer operations. To p C o v e r provides access to internal supplies such as the oil bottle, and functions as the paper exit tray .

After the fuser oil bottle is remov e d, the residual fuser oil that remains within the printer , m ust be remov ed.

Chapter 2 Setting Up Your Printer 11 Installing the P aper T ray Installing T o ner Cartridges Each toner cartridge is labeled with the capital letter of the toner color . Insert the toner car tridg es in the a ppropriate slots in the printer from the bottom to the top as follows: C (Cyan), M (Magenta), Y (Y ellow), and K (Black).

The fuser cleaning roller remov es any accum ulated dust from the fusing unit. Caution! Always k eep the printer horizo ntal to pre vent spillage of r esidual oil and toner .

Do not touch or wipe of f any powder that is on the OPC belt, or expose the OPC belt to light. 1. Open the top and front cov ers . 2. Lift the g reen OPC belt cartridg e lock lev ers up until they unloc k, with the channels upright.

Chapter 3 Installing Printer Drivers and Utilities 25 Assigning the Printer an IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway Address T o print using the TCP/IP protocol, you must assign the printer an IP address , subnet mask and a gateway . If yo u are uncer tain about what setting you should use , consult your netw ork administrator .

Loading bey ond the specified capacity will cause pape r jams . When using transparencies ensure that this is the only media in the tray .

Color Adjustment will only w ork when Custom Setting is selected under Color Mode settings . F ollo wing is a summar y of the av ailable adjustments to customize the color output of your printer .
