T o avoid dam - aging your system board, it is important to handle it very carefully . The following measures are generally sufcient to protect your equipment from ESD.

Notes: Always connect the power cord last, and always remove it before adding, removing or changing any hardware components.

Use your thumb and index nger to hold the CPU on its edges. Align the CPU keys, which are semi-circle cutouts, against the socket keys.
Chapter 2: Installation 2-5 1. With the CPU inside the socket, inspect the four corners of the CPU to make sure that the CPU is properly installed. 2. Close the load plate with the CPU inside the socket. Lock the lever labeled 'Close 1st' rst, then lock the lever labeled 'Open 1st'.
2-6 X9DRW -3F/X9DRW-iF Motherboard User’s Manual Installing a Passive CPU Heatsink 1. Apply the proper amount of thermal grease (with thickness of up to 0.13 mm) to the heatsink. 2. Place the heatsink on top of the CPU so that the two mounting holes on the heatsink are aligned with those on the retention mechanism.
Chapter 2: Installation 2-7 4. Once the heatsink is loosened, remove it from the motherboard. Note: T o reinstall the CPU and/or the heatsink, clean the surface of the CPU and/or the heatsink to get rid of the old thermal grease. Reapply the proper amount of thermal grease on the surface before reinstalling them on the motherboard.

Once it is loos - ened, remove it from the memory slot. 6. Press the release tabs to the locked positions to secure the DIMM module into the slot.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 Chapter 4 BIOS 4-1 Introduction This chapter describes the AMI BIOS Setup utility for the X9DR W-3F/X9DRW -iF . It also provides the instructions on how to navigate the AMI BIOS Setup utility screens . The AMI ROM BIOS is stored in a Flash EEPROM and can be easily updated.
