Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 Chapter 4 BIOS 4-1 Introduction This chapter describes the AMI BIOS Setup Utility for the X8DTH-6/X8DTH-6F/ X8DTH-i/X8DTH-iF . The AMI ROM BIOS is stored in a Flash EEPROM and can be easily updated. This chapter describes the basic navigation of the AMI BIOS Setup Utility setup screens.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-7 Machine Checking (A vailable when supported by the CPU.) Set to Enabled to activate the function of Machine Checking and allow the CPU to detect and report hardware (machine) errors via a set of model-speci fi c registers (MSRs).

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-9 Memory Frequency This feature forces a DDR3 to run at a frequency other than what the system has detected. Select Force SPD (Serial Presence Detect) to force the memory to run at a frequency based on the SPD Standard (T able). The available options are Auto , Force DDR-800, Force DDR-1066, Force DDR-1333, and Force SPD.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 1 South Bridge Con fi guration USB Functions This feature allows the user to decide the number of onboard USB ports to be enabled. The Options are: Disabled, 2 USB ports, 4 USB ports, 6 USB ports, 8 USB ports, 10 USB ports and 12 USB ports.
