SRC-7000 User’s Manual 2 About the RemoteComm software RemoteComm sof tware is designed to make configuring and customizing of the SRC-7000 easy and conv enient. W hen the software is installe d, you can connect your SRC-7000 to you r computer to upload or download configurat ion data.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 12 Using a pre-programmed code The easiest way to program you r SRC-7000 for a new device is to use a pre-programmed code. The RemoteComm sof tware is equipped wi th a larg e database of pre-programmed cod es. To use a pre-programmed code: 1.
Using a pre-programmed code 13 4. Select Load pre-programmed code to device from the drop down menu. A warning box appears asking you to confirm that the original setting may be deleted. 5. Click to confirm that yo u wish to overwrite th e existing configurat ion for the chosen device.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 16 Adding a device key with a pre-programmed code You may f ind that the d evices listed in the left hand panel of the RemoteComm in terface window do not suit your needs exactly. You can delete items from the list and add new ones of your own.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 20 11. Click the inside Edit Label field and name the new key by using the keyboard or on-scree n keyboard. Note : To add a carriage return (new line ) in your key name, use the enter key on the on-scree n key board. 12. Press and click to s ave your new device.

You can al so reposition the ne w key on the screen with the mouse. • To learn ho w to apply a functi on to your new key, see the next section Learning the IR code .
SRC-7000 User’s Manual 24 3. Click button. 4. Point the original remote control a t the bottom of the SRC-7000. Press and hold the key you wan t to teach. The SRC-7000 beeps when it has learnt the new key. A graphical representa tion of the IR signal appears in the IR Code View box.
Shooting the IR code 25 5. Point the SRC- 70 00 at the device. If the learning proce ss has completed, the new code should be sent by the SRC- 7000 and the device should react accordingly. If the ne w key does not work, repeat steps 7-10 to re-teach the code.

Press the soft key you wan t to shoots and hold the key two seconds. The SRC-7000 beeps when it has shot the key. A graphical wave from of the IR signal appears in the IR code view.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 30 8. Click to begin creating a new macro. A new window opens. 9. Select the first step for your macro. Each step can be any key that has been programmed into your SRC-7000. Note : • You can store up to 60 commands in one macro.

Creating a timer macro 33 Creating a timer macro Up to 32 timer macros can be defined. Timer macro keys are the same as ordinary macro keys, but a ti mer f unc tion m ay b e set s o that the macro runs at a pre determine d time. To create a timer macro: 1.

Creating a cycle key 35 Creating a cycle key You can create a cycle key for your SRC-7000. A cycle key can have a number of diffe rent functions. Each time the key is pressed, the next function is executed. Y ou could program a cycle key with your favorite cha n nels.

Connect the SRC-7000 to the PC as described in Connecting the SRC-7000 t o a PC on page 10. 9. Click the button. 10. Point the original remote con trol at the bottom of the SRC-7000.
Creating a label 37 11. Repeat step 14 for the next key in the sequence and so on until a ll the seque nce is learnt. 12. Press the button. 13. Test your cycle code by sele cting the code from the left hand panel, pointing the SRC-7000 at the d evice and clicking the button.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 42 Chapter 5 Portable model files A portable model file is a file that contains all the configuration data for a particul ar device. Portable model file s all have the extension .vmod. You c an use RemoteComm so ftware to import and export port able model files.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 46 Chapter 7 Icon Editor Software You can create your own icons for keys by u sing the Icon Editor software provided with the SRC-7000. This chapter explains how to use the icon ed i ting software to crea te icons, and how to import them into Remot eCo mm software.

SRC-7000 User’s Manual 50 Changing an icon You can edit any of the icons saved in your icon librarie s. Before editing an icon, you must first open an exis ting library file. See Library files on page 46. To edit an icon in an exist ing icon library: 1.

Note : The library browser is divi ded into 5 pages of icons of di fferent siz es. 6. Click to close the library browser window and begin editing the icon.

Troubleshooting 55 Appendix Troubleshooting Problem Possible solution Touch screen does not display anythi ng when touched. *Check the batteries are i nstalled correctly. *The batteries m ay be discharged. Repl ace the batteries . The SRC-7000 cannot operate a device after learning a functi on.
