Section 1 General Information General Information 1-1 MN850 Introduction The Baldor digital three phase multipurpose soft – starter provides reduced voltage, three phase motor starting and control over the four periods of motor operation.
1-2 General Information MN850 Safety Notice This equipment contains voltages that may be as high as 600 volts! Electrical shock can cause serious or fatal injury . Only qualified personnel should attempt the start-up procedure or troubleshoot this equipment.

2-10 Installation MN850 NEMA 12/4 Installation When a NEMA12, NEMA4, NEMA4x OR IP65 enclosure is used, a separate T op of Ramp Bypass (or shunt) contactor must be connected in parallel with the soft – start control. This will allow a solid connection of the motor to the AC power lines and eliminate the heating effect caused by the SCR ’ s.
