18 Recor ding an MD right away! This sect ion expl ains the bas ic procedure for making digi tal recordi ngs using an op tical cable connected to a CD player , Digital TV or other digital eq uipment. F or other re cording oper ations, see “V arious ways of rec ording” (page 23) .

25 Long-time recor ding (MDLP) Sele ct each recor ding mo de acc ording to the recording time that you want. Stereo record ing is possib le at 2 times (LP2) or 4 times (LP4) the normal (stereo) recording time . Monaural recordin g at 2 times normal rec or ding time is a lso possible.

38 T o e rase the whole d isc Y ou ca n qu ickly erase all th e t ra cks and data of the MD at the same ti me. Note that onc e a recording has been er ased, you cannot retrieve it. 39 Using t he g rou p func tion What is the group function? The group func tion is pro vided to allo w play back of di scs with gr oup sett ings. The grou p functi on is c o n v enient fo r play b ack of MDs on which se veral alb ums or C D single s ha ve been rec orded in MDLP (LP2/LP4) mode.
