10 Instructions f or the user 7. USING THE OVEN 7.1 General De scription 7.1.1 Oven rac ks The oven f eatures 4 runners f or positioning tra ys and grills at different heights. The inser tions heights are numbered from the bottom upwards (see figure).

13 Instructions f or the user 7.4 Operating modes This appliance is programmed to provide 3 operating settings, which can be modified by pressing PT2. ST AND-BY setting: with DSP1 on and showing the current time (activated as soon as the current time has been confirmed).
14 Instructions f or the user 7.6.1 Cooking with preset temperature After selection of the function re quire d, the ov en will star t the cooking procedure at the pre set temperature and the symbol will come on. Cooking itself is preceeded by a preheating stage, which allows the ov en to heat to the cooking temperature more quickly .
15 Instructions f or the user 7.7 Programmed coo king procedure s 7.7.1 Semiautomatic cooking Semiautomatic cooking is the functio n which allows a cooking operation to be star ted and then end ed after a specif ic length of time set by the user . Select a function (see paragraph “7.
16 Instructions f or the user After setting the duration, press PT1 once. The symbol and the current time will ap pear on the display . T ur ning PT1 to the right increa ses the time, allowing the cooking star t time required to be set .
17 Instructions f or the user 7.8 Sel ecting a re cipe The ov en has 9 preset recipe s and 3 memor ies; a recipe is a se t of function, temperature and cooking times presettings. In the ON state o nly , a recipe ca n be selected b y simply turning PT2 to the right or le ft.
18 Instructions f or the user 7.9 Selecting a recipe pe rmanently The ov en has 9 preset recipes (see “T able of predefined reci pes:” at page 19), and 3 to set according to your own named cooking preferences . In addition, you can modify the other reci pes that are already preset.

20 Instructions f or the user 7.11 Secondary menu This appliance al so has a concealed "secondar y menu" allowing the user to: 1 Activat e or deactiv ate the child safety device 2 Activate or deactiv ate the Showroom mode (which disables all the heating elements so that only the co ntrol panel works).
21 Instructions f or the user 8. COOKING WITH THE O VEN ECO: Using the grill and the bottom heating element plus the fan is particul arly suitable for cooking small quantities of food, as it provides low energ y consumption.
22 Instructions f or the user BO TT OM + CIRCULAR VENTILATED: (multifunction mod. only) ventilated cooking is combined with th e heat coming from the bottom, at the same giving time slight browning.

24 Instructions f or the user 8.1 COOKING HINTS AND TIPS HINTS ON USING THE A CCESSORIES: • Use only SMEG original tra ys . • When the tray is in the ov en, the handle must be facing the ov en door . • Push the tra ys right insid e the oven. • Use only SMEG original rac ks.
25 Instructions f or the user COOKING HINTS FOR MEA T : • Cooking times, especially meat, vary accordi ng to the thickness and quality of the f ood and to consumer taste. • T o sav e energy when roasting, w e recommend putting the f ood in the cold oven.
26 Instructions f or the user • When thawing meat, we recommend using a rack positioned on the second r unner with the food on it and a tra y positioned on the first run ner . In this wa y , the liquid from the thawing f ood drains aw ay from the f ood.

29 Instructions f or the user ROTISSERIE COOKING (ON PYROL YTIC MODELS ONLY ) Prepare the rotisser ie rod with the food, tightening th e screws A of the prongs. Fit the frame B onto the second runners from the bo ttom. Remov e the handle D and position the rotisserie rod so that the pulley E is still in the guides on the frame B.
30 Instructions f or the user 8.4 Use of the pizza plat e (on some models only ) This appliance is equipped with a plate specially dev eloped for cooking pizza. T o cook pizza, use the relev ant recipe identified by the symbol . • With th e ov en cold, remove the circular cov er from the bottom (see figure) and inser t pizza plate.
31 Instructions f or the user 9. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Before perf or ming any operations requiri ng access to powered par ts, switch off the po wer supply to the appliance.

34 Instructions f or the user 9.6 Pyr olysis: aut omatic oven c leaning (on some models only) Pyrolysis is an automatic high-tem perature clea ning procedure which causes dir t to dissolve . Thanks to this process, it is possible to clean the inside of the oven with g reat ease.
35 Instructions f or the user 9.6.2 Setting the c leaning c ycle Use PT2 to select one of the two pyrolysis functions ( and ) with the ov en in ON status.
36 Instructions f or the user 10. EXTRA ORDINAR Y MAINTENANCE The ov en may require e xtraordinar y ma i ntenance or replacement of par ts subject to wear such as seals, bulbs, and so on. The following instructions describe how to carr y out these minor maintenance operations.
37 Instructions f or the user 10.2.2 Remo ving doors with pins Open the door completely and inser t the pins (supplied) into the holes from the inside. Close the door to an angle of about 45° and lift it off . T o reassemble , fit the hinges into their groo ves , then lower t he door into place and extract the pins.

INST ALLING THE APPLIANCE 11.1 Electrical conne ction The I.D . plate with technical data, regi stration number and brand name is positioned visibly on the o ven door frame . The plate must not be removed. The appliance must be connected to ear th in compliance with electrical system safety regulations.
41 Instructions f or the user 11.2 P osition ing the oven The ov en is designed for mounting into any piece of furniture as long as it is heat-resistant. Proceed acording to the dimensions shown in Figures 1 , 2 and 3 . For installing under a wor k top , follow the dimensions given in Figure 1 - 3 .
42 Instructions f or the user Nev er use the oven door to le ver the ov en into place when fitting. Av oid ex er ting too much pressure on the oven door when open.
