11 AXIS Q19 Series - Accessing the camera Accessing the camera To install the thermal network camera, refer to th e Installation Guide supplied with your product. The thermal network camera can be used with most standard operating systems and browsers.
12 AXIS Q19 Series - Accessing the camera Access from the Internet Once connected, the camera is accessible on you r local network (LAN). To access the camera from the Internet you must configure your broadband router to allow incoming data traffic to the camera.
13 AXIS Q19 Series - Accessing the camera Focus adjustment - AXIS Q1921/-E/Q1922/-E If required, follow these instructions to focus AXIS Q1921/-E/Q1922/-E : 1. Unscrew the stop screw on the lens , using a slotted screwdriver 1.8 mm. 2. Adjust lens to focus as required.
14 AXIS Q19 Series - Accessing the camera The Live View page If your network camera has been customiz ed to meet specific requirements the bu ttons and other items described below may or may not be displayed on the Live View page. The following provides an overview of each available button.
15 AXIS Q19 Series - Accessing the camera AMC audio cont rols AMC audio buttons control the speakers and microphone connected to the computer. The buttons are only visible when audio is enabled. Speaker buttons – Click to switch the sound on or off.
16 AXIS Q19 Series - Video Streams Video Streams The network camera provides se veral image and video stream formats. Your re quirements and the properties of your network will determine the type you use. The Live View page in the network came ra provides access to H.
17 AXIS Q19 Series - Video Streams AXIS Media Control (AMC) The recommended method of accessing live video from the network camera is to use the AXIS Media Control (AMC ) in Internet Explorer in Windows. The AMC Control Panel can be used to configure various video and audio se ttings.
18 AXIS Q19 Series - Setup Tools Setup Tools The network camera can be configured by users with administrat or or operator rights. To access the product’s Setup tools, click Setup in the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.

Text, date and time overlay Preview For a preview of the image before saving, select video format and Open . The pixel co unter shows the number of pixels in an area of the image.
21 AXIS Q19 Series - Video & Audio MJPEG Frame Size Control To control the bandwidth and storage used by the Motion JP EG video stream the maximum frame size can be limited. The Default option provides consistently good ima ge quality at the expense of increase d bandwidth and storage usage whenever image activity increase s.
22 AXIS Q19 Series - Video & Audio Gain - This setting controls the maximum gain. Lowering th e gain reduces the contrast in the t hermal image. Once satisfied, click Save. Click View... to view the video stream with the current configuration. Please see the online help files for a description of each available setting.
23 AXIS Q19 Series - Video & Audio Note: The Talk/Listen button is configured from the Audio tab in the AMC Control panel (see AXIS Media Control (AMC), on page 17). • Simplex - Thermal Network Camera speaker only . Audio is transmitted from the clie nt to the camera and played by the speakers connected to the camera.
24 AXIS Q19 Series - Video & Audio Record To record a new clip using the microphone: 1. Select the Record radio button. 2. Enter a descriptive Name . 3. If the recording should not start immediately upon clicking the Record... button, enter th e number of seconds to wait before recording actually starts.
25 AXIS Q19 Series - Live View Config Live View Config Layout The settings on this page are used to customize the appearance of the Live View page. Stream Profile From the Stream Profile drop-down list, select the stream profile that is to be used for th e Live View page.
26 AXIS Q19 Series - Live View Config Viewer Settings Check Show viewer toolbar to display the AXIS Media Control (AMC) or th e QuickTime viewer toolbar under the video image in your browser. The administrator can disable the installation of the H.264 decoder included with AMC.

29 AXIS Q19 Series - PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) Guard Tour A guard tour displays the video stream from different preset positions, one-by-one, in a pre- determined order or randomly, and for configurable time periods. The guard tour will keep running after the user has logged off or closed the browser.
30 AXIS Q19 Series - PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) Control Queue Settings Enable PTZ Con trol Queue - This enables the queuing funct ion and displays the user's status and position in the queue on the Live View page. Limit number of users in queue to - This can be specified up to 100.
31 AXIS Q19 Series - Applications Applications The Applications feature allows you to upload third-pa rty applications for use on this device. Listed under Setup > Applications > Packages are the applications that have already been insta lled. Click on the name to view the menu options – Settings, License and About.
32 AXIS Q19 Series - Events Events Pre-defined parameters, known as an event or Event Type can trigger certain actions in the camera. A common event type is an alarm that causes the camera to upload images. Many event types use an Event Serv er to receive uploaded images.

34 AXIS Q19 Series - Events Notes: • Pre-trigger and post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails • The maximum length of the pre-/post-buffer depend s on the video image size and selected frame rate • If the pre- or post-buffer is too large for the camera’s internal memory, the buffer length is reduced.

40 AXIS Q19 Series - System Options IEEE 802.1X IEEE 802.1X is a standard fo r port-based Network Admission Control providing secure authentication of wired and wireless network devices. IEEE 802.1X is based on EAP (Extensible Authent ication Protocol).

43 AXIS Q19 Series - System Options Use the following D NS server address - Enter the desired DNS server by specifying the following: • Domain name - Enter the domain(s) to search for the host name used by the network came ra. Multiple domains can be separated by semicolons (;).
44 AXIS Q19 Series - System Options Use manu ally selec ted NAT rou ter - Select this option to manually select a NAT router and enter the IP a ddress for the router in the field provided. If a router is not manually specified, th e network c amera automaticall y searches for NAT routers on your network.
45 AXIS Q19 Series - System Options SMTP (email) Enter the host names (or IP addresses) and port numbers for your primary and secondary mail servers in the f ields provided, to enable the sending of notifications and image email mess ages from the camera to predefined a ddresses via SMTP.

50 AXIS Q19 Series - Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Checking the firmware Firmware is software that determines the functionality of network cameras. One of your first actions when troubleshooting a problem should be to check the current firmware version.

The Server Report contains important information about the server and its software, as well as a list of the current parameters.
