Key features • HDTV qual ity With HDTV performance, AXIS Q1755 delivers outs tanding image quality and full fps in H.264. This is beneficial for video su rveillance s ystems where very clear image s and greater image deta il are required.
5 AXIS Q1755 - Product overview Network - RJ-45 Ethernet connector. Supports PoE (Power over Ethe rnet, class 3). Using shield ed cables is recommended. Audio in - 3.5mm input for a mono microphone, or a line-in mono si gnal (left channel is used from a stereo signal).
6 AXIS Q1755 - Product overview I/O terminal connector Used in applications for e.g. mo tion detection, event triggering and alarm notifications. In addition to an auxiliary power and a GND pin, the AXIS Q1755 has 2 pins that can be configured as either input or output.

8 AXIS Q1755 - Accessing the Camera Setting the root password To gain access to the product, the password for the default administrator user root must be set. This is done in the ‘Configure Root Password’ dialog, which is displayed when th e netw ork camera is acce ssed for the first time.

Not all the buttons described below will show up, unless configured to do so. View size - click these buttons to scale the image down to 800 pixels wide or to full s cale.

12 AXIS Q1755 - Video Streams AXIS Media Control (AMC) The recommended method of accessing live video from the network camera is to use the AXIS Media Control (AMC ) in Microsoft Internet Explorer in Windows. The AMC control panel can be used to configure various video and audio se ttings.

Zoom tele limit - Select a value fr om the drop-down list and click the Go to button to check the selected limit. The camera has automatic focus and will refocus when the image changes.
17 AXIS Q1755 - Video & A udio settings Audio Settings This section describes how to configure the basic audio settings for the network camera. The audio functionality is en abled under Video & Audio > Video Stream > Audio.
18 AXIS Q1755 - Video & A udio settings Audio Output If the sound from the speaker is too low or too high, adjust the outpu t gain for the active speaker attach ed to the network camera. When satisfied with the settings, click Save , or click Re set to revert to previously saved settings.
19 AXIS Q1755 - Live View Config Live View Config Layout Stream Profile From the Stream Profile drop-down list, select the stream profile that is to be used for th e Live View page. Listed are t he standard stream profiles as well as the ones created under Video & Audio > Stream Profiles .
20 AXIS Q1755 - Live View Config Viewer Settings Check the Show viewer toolbar box to display the AXIS Media Control (AMC) or the QuickTime viewer toolbar under the video image in your browser. The administrator can disable the installation of the H.264 decoder included with AMC.

23 AXIS Q1755 - Event Event An event or Event Typ e triggers actions when activated. An event type is a set of parameters that defines the actions. A common event type is an alarm that causes the came ra to upload images. Many event types require an Event Server , to receive uploaded images.
24 AXIS Q1755 - Event Example: If a person or object passes in front of a camera and an event has been configured to detect and respond to motion, the camera can record and save ima ges to an FTP server, and can send a no tification e-mail to an e-mail address.
25 AXIS Q1755 - Event Notes • Pre-trigger and Post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails • The maximum length of the pre-/post-buffer depend s on the video image.
26 AXIS Q1755 - Event When the Alarm for dark images parameter is enabled, alarms are generated for all cases wher e the lights are either dimmed or turned off, or if the lens is sprayed, covered, or rendered severely out of f ocu s. If not enabled, no alarm will be sent.
27 AXIS Q1755 - Event Examples: • Avoid triggering on small objects in the video image by setting the object si ze level to high. • Use several small Motion Detection wi ndows rather than one large window, if triggers on small movements or objects are desired.
28 AXIS Q1755 - Recording List Recording List See Setup > System Options > Storage > SD Card to connect, format and monitor the status and available recording space of the SD memory card. The Recording List window contains a list of recordings made to the SD memory card.
29 AXIS Q1755 - System Options System Options Security Users User access control is enabled by default. An administrator can set up other users, by giving these user names and passwords.
30 AXIS Q1755 - System Options IEEE 802.1X IEEE 802.1X is an IEEE standard for port-bas ed Network Admission Control. It provides authentication to devices attached to a network port (wired or wireless), establishing a point-to-point connection, or, if au thentication fails, preventing access on that port.
31 AXIS Q1755 - System Options From the Time Mode section, select the preferred method to use for setting the time: • Sync hronize with computer time - sets the time from the clock on your computer. • Synchronize with NTP Server - the camera will obtain the time from an NTP server every 60 minutes.

Both vers ions may be enabled simultaneo usly, and at least one version must always be enabled. When using IPv4, th e IP address for the camera can be set automatica lly via DHCP, or a static IP address can be set manually.
33 AXIS Q1755 - System Options Use the following D NS server address - enter the desired DNS server by specifying the following: Domain na me - enter the domain(s) to search fo r the host name used by the networ k cameras. Multiple domains can be separated by semicolons (;).
34 AXIS Q1755 - System Options Alternative HTTP port - select this option to manually define an extern al HTTP port. Enter the port number in the field provided. If no port is entered here a port number is au tomat ically selected when NAT traversal is enabled.
35 AXIS Q1755 - System Options SNMP The Simple Network Management Protocol (S NMP) allows remote management of network devices. Depending on the level of security required, select the version of SNMP to use. The three levels of security are: • SNMP V1 - includes no security.
