8 Bring up the W L -61 1 Connect t he supplied p ower-adapter to t he power inlet port and co nnect it to a wall outlet. The WL -61 1 automat ically ente rs the self-test phase. During self -t est phase, the P ower L ED will be lit co ntinuously to indicate th at this product is in normal ope ration.

L A N settings The LAN tab gives y ou the opportunity to change the IP settings of t he WL-61 1. Click <App ly> at the b ottom of this scr een to save any change s. IP add ress 192. 168.0.1. It is the router ’ s LAN IP addr ess (Y our LAN clients default gateway IP address).
Lease Time For ever . In the Lease Time setting you can spec ify th e time period that the DHC P lends an IP address to your LA N clients. The DHCP wil l change your LAN client’s IP addr ess when this t ime thre shold period is reached.
Device S ta tus View the Broadban d router ’s c urrent conf iguration settings. D evice S tatus displays the configuration settings you’ve configured in the Wizard / Basic Settings / W ireless Sett ings section.
Internet St atus This page displays whether the WAN port is connected to a Cable/DSL connection. It also displays t he router’s WAN IP a ddress, Su bnet Mask, and ISP Gateway a s w ell as M AC address, t he Primary DNS. Press Ren ew button t o renew your WAN IP address.
DHCP Client St atus DHCP This page shows a ll DHCP c lients ( LAN P Cs) cu rre ntly c onnected t o y our network. The table show s the assi gned I P add ress, MAC address an d expiration time for each DHCP lea sed c lient. Use the Refresh button t o update the av a ilable information.
WL-61 1 Log View the operation lo g o f the WL-611 . This page shows the curr ent system log of th e Broadban d r outer . It displays any event occurred after system st art up.

10 Configuration W izard Click Wizard to configur e the r outer . Th e Setup wizard w ill now be d isplayed; check that t he modem is connected a nd click N ext. Select your cou ntry from the Cou ntry list. Se lect your internet provider . C lick Next.
Click APPLY to compl ete the confi guration..
11 Wireless Settings Y ou ca n set paramet ers that are used for the wirel ess stations to connect to this router . The parameters inc lude M ode, ESSID, C hannel Number a nd A ssociated Client. Wireless Fun c tion Enable or D isable Wirele ss function h ere.
Basic Settings Mode Allows you to set the AP to AP , Station , Brid ge or WDS mode. Band Allows you to s et the AP fixed at 802.11b or 802.11g mode. Y ou c an also s elect B +G m ode to all ow 80211 b an d 802.11g c lients a t the same time . Enabl e SSID # Allows you to enable up to four SSIDs for this router .
A dvan ced Settings This ta b allow s you to s et the advanced w ireless options. The o ptions included are A uthentication T yp e, Fragment Threshold, RTS Threshold, B eacon Interval, a nd Preamble T ype. Y o u s hould not c hange these parameters unless you know what effe ct the c hanges wi ll have on the router .
Data R ate The “Data Rate” is the rate that this a ccess poi nt uses t o transmit data packets. The access po int will use the highest possible s elected transmission rate to transmit the da ta packets. N Data R ate Th e “Da ta Rate” is the rate that th is ac cess point uses to transmit data packets f or N compliant wirel ess nodes.
Security This Access Point provides com plete wirel ess LA N security funct ions, i ncluded are WEP , I EEE 802.11x, IEEE 802.11x w ith WEP , WP A with pr e-share d key and W P A with RA DIUS. W ith th ese s ecurity functions, you can p revent your wireless LAN from illega l access.
WEP When you select 64 - bit or 128- bit WEP key , yo u ha ve to enter WE P keys to encrypt data. Y ou ca n gen erate the key by yourself and e nter it. Y ou can enter f our WEP keys and select o ne of th em as a default key . Then the router can rece ive a ny packets encry pted by one of t he four keys.
WP A Pre-shared K ey Wi-Fi Prot ected A ccess ( WP A) is an advanced secur ity standard. Y ou can use a pre-shared key to authent icate wireless stations and encrypt d ata during communicat ion. It u ses TKIP or C CMP (AES) to c hange the e ncryptio n key frequently .

WPS Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is the simplest way t o establish a c onnection between the wireless c lients and t he wireless router . Y o u don’ t have to select the encrypti on m ode and f ill in a long encry ption passphrase every time wh en you tr y to setup a w ireless connection.

12 Firewall Setti ng s The Broadba nd router provides exten sive firewall protecti on by restricti ng connection parameters, th us lim iting the risk of hacker atta cks, and defending against a w ide array of common Internet att acks.
DMZ If y ou have a client PC that cannot run an Internet a pplication (e.g. Games) properly f rom behind the NA T fire wall, then you ca n open up th e firewal l restrictions to unr estricted two- way I nternet a ccess b y def ining a DM Z Host.
Denial of Service (DoS) The Broa dband router' s fir ewall can block comm on hacker attack s, inclu ding Denial o f Servi ce, Pi ng of D eath, P ort Scan and Sync F lood.
A cce ss Y ou can r estrict us ers from accessi ng certa in Internet a ppl ications/services (e.g. Inter net we bsites, ema il, FTP etc.), Access Control all ows users to define the traffic type perm itted in your LAN . Y ou can control which PC client ca n have access to these ser vices.

13 Advanced Settings Network Ad dress T ranslation (NA T) allows m ultiple users at yo ur local sit e to access the Internet through a single Public IP Address o r mu ltiple Public IP Addresses.
Type This is the p rot ocol type to be forwarded. Y ou can choose to forward “TCP” or “UDP” pa ckets only , or sel ect “both” t o forward both “T C P” and “UDP” packets. Port Ran ge The range of ports to be forward to th e private IP .
Virtual Server Use the V irtual Server functio n when you want different servers/ clients in your LAN to hand le dif ferent service/Inter net ap plication ty pe ( e.g. Email, FTP , W eb server etc.) from t he Internet. Com puters use numbers calle d port numbers to recognize a part icular service/I nternet ap plication type.
Add Virtu al S erver F ill in t he "Private IP", "Private P ort", "T ype", “Public Po rt ” and "C omment" of the sett ing to be added a nd the n click "Add". Then this V irtual S erver settin g will be ad ded into th e "Current Virtual S erver T able" below.
Special A ppl ications Some app lications re quire m ultiple co nnections, such a s Internet games, video Conferencin g, I nternet telepho ny an d ot hers. In this s ection you can configure the r outer to su pport multip le c onnect ions for these ty pes of applications.
Applications s election. Once you have selected a n application, select a location ( 1-10) in the C opy to selecti on box an d then click the C opy to butt on. This w ill automat ically list th e Pub lic Ports re quired for th is po pular a pplication in the locat ion (1-10) you sp ecified.
A LG Y ou ca n select ap plications that need “ Application Layer Gateway” support. Enabl e select enable “ Ap plication Layer Gateway” , the n the router will let the selected a pplication corr ectly pass throu gh the NA T gateway .
UPnP With UP nP , al l PCs in you I ntranet w ill discover this router automatically , so you don’ t have to configur e your PC and it can ea sily access t he Inter net through this router . UPnP Feature Y ou can enable or Disable th e UPnP fea t ure here.
QoS QoS can le t you classify Internet application traffic by source/destina tion I P address a nd port num ber . Y ou can as sign pr iority for each type of app lication and reserve bandwidth for it. The packets of app lications with higher priority will a lways g o first.
Edit a Q oS rule Select the rule you want to edit and click “Edit” , then enter the detail form of the Q oS rule. Click “ App ly ” after editing the form an d the rule will be saved. Adjust QoS rule p riority Y ou can select the rule and c lick “Move Up” to make it s priority higher .
