6 Setup LAN, W AN The WL -361 has one Ethernet p ort that do ubles as a W AN (Intern et) port and a LAN port. When no 3G U SB c li ent is inserted in t he USB p ort, the port f uncti ons as WAN. When a 3G US B cl ient is i nserted i n t he USB port, the port fu ncti ons as LAN.

8 Bringing up t he WL-361 Connect t he sup pl ied power-adapter to the p ower inlet port and co nnect it to a wal l outl et, or sw itch the router o n w ithout t he power adapter con nected to work off t he battery . T he WL - 361 aut omatical ly e nters the self-test phase.

L A N settin gs The LAN tab gives you the opp ortunity to chang e the IP s ettings of th e WL -3 61. Click <Ap ply> at the b ottom of this scree n to save any changes. IP address 192. 168.0 .1. It i s t he router’ s LAN IP address (Y our LAN cli ents default gateway IP address) .
Lease Time Forever . In the Lease Tim e sett ing you can s pecif y the t ime period that the DH CP lends an IP address to y our LA N clients. T he DH CP wil l change your LAN cli ent’s IP address when thi s t ime thresh ol d period is reache d.
Device S t atus View t he Broadband router’s current config uration settin gs. Devi ce Status displ ays the c onfi guration sett ings you’ve c onfi gured i n the W izard / Basic Settings / Wi reless S etti ngs sect ion.
Internet St atus This page d isp lays whether the WAN port is co nnected to a Cabl e/DSL or 3G connecti on. It also d i spl ays th e rout er’s WAN IP address, Subn et M ask, and ISP Gateway as wel l as M AC address, the Primary DNS. Press Renew button to renew your WAN IP address.
DHCP Client St atus DHCP Thi s page s hows all DHCP c li ents ( LAN PCs) currently connecte d t o your network. The table sh ows the ass igned IP add ress, MAC addre ss and expi ration time for ea ch DHCP lea sed cl ient. Use th e Refresh button to u pdate the availabl e informatio n.
WL-361 Log View the o peration log o f the WL-361 . Thi s page shows t he current system l og of the Broadban d router . It displ ays any event occurred after system start up.

10 Configuration W izard Click Wizard to co nfig ure the router . The Setu p wizard wi ll now be displayed; check that the m odem is con nected a nd cl ick Next. Select yo ur country from t he Country l ist. Sele ct your internet provider . Alternati vely you ca n sel ect “Mob ile 3G” to set the WL - 361 up f or a 3G/ UMTS connecti on.

11 Wireless Set tings Y ou can s et parameters that are us ed for the wire less stations to connect to this router . The parameters inclu de Mode, ESSID, Channel Number and Assoc iated Client. Wireles s Fun ction Enable or Disa ble W irel ess funct ion here.
Basic Settings Mode Allow s you to set the AP to AP , S tation, Bri dge or WDS mode. Band Al lows you to set the AP fixed at 802.11b or 802.11 g mo de. Y ou can also sel ect B+G mode t o a ll ow 80 211b an d 80 2.11g cl ie nts at t he same time. SSID This i s the name of the w ireless signa l wh ich i s broadcasted.
A dvan ced Settings This tab al lo ws you to set the ad va nced wirel ess opti ons. The option s incl ud ed are Authe ntication T yp e, Fragment Thre shol d, RTS Thres hold, Beacon I nterval, and Preambl e T ype. Y ou shou ld not change thes e parameters u nle ss you know what effect the cha nges wi ll have on the ro uter .
N Data R ate The “Data Rate” is the rate that thi s acc ess poi nt uses to transmit data packets for N compl iant w irel ess n odes. H ighest to low est data rate can be fixed.
Security This Acc ess Point provi des compl ete w irel ess LAN security f unction s, inc luded are WEP , IEEE 802. 11x, I EEE 802.1 1x wi th WEP , WPA wit h pre-shared key and WP A with R ADIUS. Wit h th ese s ecurity f uncti ons, you can prevent your wi reless LA N from ille gal access.
WEP When you sel ect 64-bit or 1 28-bit WEP k ey , you hav e to enter WEP keys to encrypt data. Y ou can generate the key by y oursel f and enter it. Y ou can enter four W EP keys an d se lect one of them as a defaul t key . Then the router can receive any packets e ncrypted b y one of t he f our keys.
WP A Pre-shared Ke y Wi-Fi Protecte d Access (WPA) is an advanced securi ty sta ndard. Y ou can us e a pre-shared key to authe nticate w irel ess st ations a nd en crypt d ata during communicati on. It uses TKIP or CCMP (AES) to chan ge the encrypti on key frequentl y .

12 Firewall Settings The Broadba nd ro uter pr ovides exten sive f irewal l protecti on b y restrict i ng connecti on parame ters, thus li mit ing the risk of hacker attacks, a nd defendi ng against a wid e array of common Internet attacks.
DMZ If you have a cl ie nt P C that cannot ru n a n Inter net ap plicat ion ( e.g. Games) properly from behi nd the NA T fire wall, t hen you can o pen up the fi rewal l restricti ons to unrestrict ed tw o- way Internet access by def ini ng a DMZ Host.
Denial of Service (DoS) The Broadband router's firewall can block common hacker attacks, incl udi ng Denial of S ervic e, Ping of D eath, Po rt Scan and Sync Fl ood.
A ccess Y ou ca n restri ct us ers f rom access ing certain Internet appli cations/ser vices (e.g. Internet web sites , emai l, FTP etc.). Access C ontrol a llows users to define the traffic typ e pe rmi tted in your LAN. Y ou ca n control w hich PC cl ient can have access to th ese servi ces.

URL block Y ou can bl ock access to some W eb si tes from particu lar PCs by enteri ng a full URL address or just keywords of th e W eb si te. Enable URL Blocki ng E nable/di sabl e URL Bl ocki ng. Add U RL Keyword Fil l in “URL/Keyword” and then c li ck “ Add” .
13 Advanced Sett ings Network A ddress T ranslation (NA T) al lows mult ipl e users at your local sit e to access the Inter net through a sing le Public IP Addr ess or m ultip le Pu bl ic IP Addresses.
Port Range The range of p orts to b e forward to the private IP . Comment descri ption o f this setti ng. Add Port Forwarding Fill i n th e "Private IP", “T y pe” , “Port Range” and "Comment" of t he settin g to be a dded and then cl ick "Add".
Virtual S erver Use the Virtual Server functio n when you want diff erent servers/cli ents in your LAN to han dle dif ferent service/I nternet appl ication type (e.g. Emai l, FTP , Web server etc.) fr om th e Internet. Computers use numbers ca ll ed port numbers to recognize a parti cular s ervice/Internet appli cati on ty pe.

Firmware Upgrade This page al lows you to u pgrad e th e router ’ s firmware. Firmware Upgrade Th is tool all ows you to upgr ade t he Broadband router’ s system f irmware.
Backup Settings The Backup screen all ows you to save (Backup) the router’s current confi guration settings. W hen you save the confi guration setti ng (Backup) you can re-l oad the saved c onfi guration into the router through the Restore selecti on.
Reset Y ou can reset the router ’ s system shou ld any problem exist. The re set functi on essentia ll y re-boots your router’ s syst em. Click < Ap ply > at the b ottom of the s creen to save the above conf ig ur ations .
DDNS DDNS all ows you to map the stati c domai n name to a dynamic IP ad dress. Y ou must get a n account, passw ord and your sta tic domain name from the DDN S service providers. This router s upp orts DynDN S, TZO and ot her com mon DDNS service pr oviders.
