If all trunks are busy when you make y our call, yo u will hear a fast busy tone.

Trunk Callback Queuing lets you hang up and have the C BX call you back when a trunk becomes free.
Using Your Phone 2–13 2. Using You r Phone Using the Speaker Your telephone has a speaker that you can use for receiving calls or listening to the PhoneMail system. On ROLMphone models that only have a sp eaker and not a microp hone (RP3 12, RP61 2, and RP624) , you must lift the hand set to speak to the other party.

2–20 RO LM ph on e 300/ 60 0 U ser Gu id e Transf er The Transfer feature lets yo u move a call, for example, to another party, and then hang up. The other party can b e an extension, the comp any opera- tor, or an outside number if you r CB X is set up to do this.
Using Your Phone 2–21 2. Using You r Phone Note If you have a display t elephone, the displa y notifies you if th e extension to which you are transferring the call is in Do Not Dis turb mode. If you do not have a display telephon e and the extension is in th e Do Not Disturb mod e, the CBX calls you bac k after you hang up.

The CBX automatically dials the extension that left the message or d ials the PhoneMail system. The message or no tification is cancelled when the called party or the PhoneMail system answers.

You cannot bridg e a conversation on an extension set up for Pr ivacy. Also, once you have bridg ed into a conversation, the party at that ex tension can exclude you by pres sing th e Privacy key.

It is i ntended fo r high pri ority and emergency internal calls and requires a special class of servi ce. Ask your C BX system admi nistrato r whether your teleph one ha s been ass igned this cl ass of service.
3–6 ROLMphon e 300/600 User Guide Busy Standby Queuing With Busy St andby Queuing , you can stay on a line until a busy ext ension th at you are trying to call becomes free. The bu sy tone changes to music (or a ringing-beep ton e), indicating that you are queued.

To do this, set up a repdial key with th e Intercom feature acce ss code ( * * 6) followed by the com code of another member in your grou p.
Making Calls 3–2 1 3. Making Calls Mailbox Rem inder Message When you cal l an extens ion that is busy o r does not answer, the Mailbox Reminder Messag e feature lets you leave a remind er message, to have the o ther party call you back. The extension you are calling must have a mailbox.

Making Calls 3–2 3 3. Making Calls Repertory Dialing (Repdial) The Repertory Dialing featur e lets you set up each repdial (R-) k ey on your faceplate for one-touch d ial- ing of an extension , an outside number, a featu re access code, or a combination of n umbers and feature access codes.

Lat er, yo u can redi al your s aved nu mber by pressin g the Save d Number Redial (S AV/RDL) key. You can save o nly one number at a time; each time you save a numb er, you erase the nu mber you had saved previou sly.

Making Calls One-Way Broadcast Speaker Call The One-Way Broadcast Speaker C all feature lets you make a one-way call to th e speakers of up to 40 phones that are multiple lin e appearances of the same extension. To use this feat ure, y ou m us t b e set up for it on yo ur CBX .

Two-Way Sp eaker Call The Two-Way Speaker Call feature lets you make a two-way call to the sp eak er of another telephone.
Making Calls 3–3 3 3. Making Calls Speaker Call Rejection Speaker Call Rejection lets you temporarily block incoming speaker calls. If another party attempts to make a speaker call to your telephone, they will receive a busy tone. If they have a d i splay telepho ne, PLEASE TRY LATER is also displayed.
