3 Impor tant Safety Instructions Make sure that all the cooktop parts are dry before • lighting a burner . T urn the knobs to the • OFF position prior to removing them from the valve stems. Do not use the oven for storage. • Exercise caution when opening the oven door .
4 Backguard Burner T rim ring Burner control knob Spill tray Grate BACKGUARD: Model ER30G comes standard with a six inch backguard installed. Model ER30GI comes standard with a low profile (1 3/4” inch) backguard. The backguard protects the wall from the effects of heat and splattering grease.
5 Convection fan (behind filter) Par ts of the Oven Getting to Know Y our Range OVEN RACKS : Each oven comes with three chrome-plated adjustable oven r acks. RACK SUPPORTS : There are six rack positions inside the oven chamber . The rack positions are numbered from the bottom counting up.
6 Cooktop Assembly The burner rings spread the flame evenly around the burner cap. All burner parts must be properly seated for proper burner lighting and operation. T o assemble the burners: Remo ve the burner rings, burner caps and 1. grates from their shipping packages.
7 Burning-in the Oven When the oven comes from the factory , residue for certain materials used in the manufacturing process are left on the parts of the oven. These residues should be “burned off” before the oven is used for the first time. T o burn off the residues in the oven: Birds or other small pets may be sensitive to the 1.
8 Operating Y our Range Things to Know Before Using the Cooktop A normal flame is steady and blue in color . For - • eign material in the gas line, especially in new construction, may cause an or ange flame during initial operation. This color will disappear with further use.
9 Operating Y our Range Lighting a Burner Each burner control knob has a small dia- gram next to it to tell y ou which burner it operates. Push in on the knob and turn it counter-clock - 1. wise to the HIGH position. The knob will illu- minate and the igniter for the burner will spark repeatedly until it lights.
10 Y ou may use your oven to cook in one of the following modes: Bake The bake process uses the bottom ov en burner to provide conv entional baking heat. T empera- tures may be set from 125˚F to 500˚F . Use the standard bake mode for single r ack baking.

13 Operating Y our Range When using a meat thermometer , insert the • probe halfway into the center of the thick est portion of the meat. F or poultry , insert the ther- mometer probe between the body and leg into the thickest part of the inner thigh.
14 Care and Cleaning Cleaning W ARNING Clean only the parts of the range listed in this manual. • Clean them only in the manner specified. T o avoid dangerous fumes or damage to your range’s • surfaces and accessories, use only the types of cleaning solutions specified in this manual.
15 Care and Cleaning Cleaning the Burners and Igniters CAUTION Use care while cleaning the igniters. The porcelain is fragile and can crack or break. IMPORTANT : The igniters will not work properly if the burner rings, burner bases or igniters are not clean.
16 Cleaning (Continued) Knobs and T rim Rings W ARNING Do not operate the cooktop without the knobs and spill • protector rings in place. Do not soak the knobs and spill protector rings in water • or place them in the dishwasher .
17 IR (Infrared) Broil Burner CAUTION T o prevent damage to the broil burner , do not spray the burner or its igniter with any type of cleaner or attempt to scrub them in any manner .
