12 Icon s Not e: The default Profile is Normal. The profile is editable, and the displayed icons may vary according to the settings. T o edit Profile settings, press Menu ➔ Settin gs ➔ Profiles . Shows the receiv ed signal st rength. The greater nu mber of bars indicates a stronger signal.

14 Selecting Functions and O ptions Y our phone offers a set of functions that can be cust om ized f or yo ur use. These functions are arran ged in menus and sub-m enus, accessed u s ing the two soft keys. Each menu and sub-menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.

Right So ft K ey Some functi ons of the right soft key are as foll o ws.
16 Na vig ation K ey Use the directional keys on the Navigat ion key to browse menus, sub menus, and lists. Press the Up or Down Navigation ke ys when jumpi ng to high lighted links on the web. The Up or Dow n Na viga tion key s also adjust the Ring vol ume in the Idl e screen and, i n a call , they allo w yo u to adjust the e arpiece vo lume .

18 Manual Paus e Di a li ng When you call autom a ted systems, you are often requir ed to en ter a password or account number . Instead of manually entering the numbe rs each time, you can dial the numbers along with specia l charac ters ca lled p a uses.
Call Functions 19 Making a Call from y our Contact List Y ou can store phone numbers that you u se regularly on the SIM card or in the phone’ s mem ory .
20 R ecent Calls The phone stores the numbers of the calls you have Missed, Rece ive d or Dialed in the Recent Calls menu. Y ou ca n quickly acce ss this me nu from the Idle screen by pressing the ke y . If the number or c aller is li sted in your Address Book, the associated name di splays.
Call Functions 21 Viewing M issed Calls The number of calls you have missed is displayed on the Idle screen. T o view the number details: 1. Press the Vi e w sof t key . The m ost recent ly miss ed call is disp layed . Note: If there is a voicemail sent by the same number , associated ic ons are displayed and can then be selected.
22 Sa ving a M issed Call to y our Address B ook T o save the mis sed call e ntr y to yo ur addres s book, use th e following st eps: 1. Press the Vi e w soft key . A li st of the mo st re cently missed call s is displayed. 2. Select the desired missed call.
Call Functions 23 Del et i ng a Mi s sed Cal l T o delete a missed call entry: 1. Immed iately af ter missing a ca ll, pres s the Vi e w soft key . 2. Press the Options soft key , then select Delete . The call log is deleted imme dia tel y . Note: Y ou can press the key a t any time to exit the Missed Call fea ture.
24 Options Duri ng a Call Y our phone provides a numbe r of control functions that you can use during a call. Adju sting the Call V olum e Adjust the ea rpiece vol ume dur ing a call by pressin g the Up and Down Navig a tion keys.

26 In- Cal l Opt ion s During a call, press the OK key to t urn the Speake r On or Off . Press the Options soft key to a ccess the following: • Speaker On/Of f : turns your microphone o n and off. • Mute/Unmute : allows you to mute and unmu te your ph one.
Call Functions 27 Mut in g or Sen din g K ey pad T ones These options al lo w you to tu rn the ke y tones off o r on. If the Mute Keys option is selected , it allows you to pr ess ke ys without hearing key tones during a call.
28 Call W aiting The Call Waiting fea ture alerts you of an incoming call whil e you ha ve a c all in progress, if this service is supported by the network. T o activate th e Call waiting feature, press Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Call ➔ V oice Calls ➔ Call W aiting and sel ect Option ➔ Activ ate .
Call Functions 29 3-W ay Calling (Multi-P ar ty Calling) The 3-W ay or Mu lti-P arty feature allo ws yo u to answer a series of inco ming calls and pl ace them on hold. If this service is supported by the network, and the SIM has the feature enabled, all calls can be j oined to gether .
30 Section 4: Menu Na viga tion This s ection explains the menu navigation for your phon e. It also incl udes an over view of al l the available menus associa ted with your phon e. Some menu options are controll ed by the SIM provide d by your ser vice provide r .
Menu Navigation 31 Using S hor tcuts Numbered menu items, s uch as menus, sub-menus, and options can be qu ickly accessed by using their sh ortcut numbe rs. In Menu mode, Main Menus can be acces sed by pre ssing th e numb er ke ys (1 to 9) corresponding to their location on the screen.
32 Section 5: Messaging This section describe s how to send or receive tex t messages. It also includes the feat ures and functi onalit y associated with messaging. Cr ea ting and Se nding New Messa ges 1. In Idle mode, press Menu ➔ Messa ges ➔ Create Message .

34 Using Message Options Message options at the Inbox level dif fer accordi ng to the message type, what you have done with the me ssage, and whether you are viewing the message.
Messaging 35 Inbo x The Inbox message box stores co pies of messages you received. Sentbo x The Sentbox message b ox stores copies of mess ages you sent. Outbo x The Outbox message box stores copies of outgoing messa ges, both those sent successfully and those that failed.
36 Deleting Messages When your phone’ s memor y i s full, an error message displa ys and you can not receive a ny new messages. Use the Del ete option e rase obsole te messages, freeing memor y for new messages. Y ou can delete the messages in each messa ge fo lder(s) individu ally or a l l at one time.
Messaging 37 T ext Message The T ext Mess age settings provide Send ing Op tions. Y ou may be ab le to access t he followi ng opt ions, if t hey a re available f r om your service provider: Reply P ath, Keep a C opy , Validity P eriod, and Message Type.

40 F a v orite s List Y ou can assign up to 8-F avorites entries an d then dial them easily whenever you want, simply by pre ssing and holding the as sociate d nume ric key . Y ou can set up Favorites entries by going to Men u ➔ Contacts ➔ F avorites and selecting an Empty p osition in your F a vori tes list.

44 • Change P assword : allows you to ch ange your password to a new one. Y ou must enter the current password befor e you can specify a new one. O nce you have entere d a new p ass word, you ar e asked to confirm it by enterin g it again. • Change PIN Code : allows you to change your current PIN, provided the PIN check feature is enabled.
