Assembling 10 T o install the SIM or USIM card and battery , If the device is on, press and hold [ 1 ] and select Po we r o to turn it o . Remove the back co ver . 2 Be careful not to damage y our nger nails when you remov e the back cover . Inser t the SIM or USIM card.
Assembling 11 Inser t the batter y . 4 Replace the back cov er . 5 Charge the ba tter y Before using the devic e for the rst time, you must char ge the battery . Y ou can charge the device with the pr ovided travel adapt er or by connecting the device to a PC with a PC data cable .
Assembling 12 Charge with the tr avel adapt er › Open the cov er to the multifunc tion jack on the top of the 1 device. Plug the small end of the trav el adapter into the 2 multifunction jack . Improperly connecting the travel adapter can cause serious damage to the device .
Assembling 13 T o save ener gy , unplug the trav el adapter when not in use. The tr avel adapter does not hav e a power switch, so you must unplug the tra vel adapter from the outlet to interrupt the pow er supply . The travel adapt er should remain close to the socket when in use .
Assembling 14 Y our device supports only the F A T le struc ture f or ● memor y cards . If you inser t a card f or matted with a dier ent le struc ture, y our device will ask you to ref or mat the memory card. F requent writing and erasing of data will shor ten the ● lifespan of memory cards.
Assembling 15 F ormat the memor y card › F ormatting your memor y card on a PC may cause incompatibilities with y our device. F ormat the memory card only on the device. In Idle mode, select → Settings → SD card and phone storage → Unmoun t SD card → F ormat SD card → F ormat SD card → Er ase ev erything .

Getting star ted 24 Use the shortcuts panel › In Idle mode or while using an application, tap the indicator icons area and dr ag your nger down t o open the shor tcuts panel. Y ou can ac tivate or deactivate wireless c onnec tion featur es and access a list of notications, such as messages , calls, ev ents or proc essing status.
Getting star ted 25 Ac cess applications T o access your devic e’ s applications, In Idle mode, select 1 to access the applica tion list. Scroll left or right to another application screen. 2 Select an application. 3 When you use applications pr ovided by Google, you ● must have a Google acc ount.

Getting star ted 30 Enter t ex t Y ou can enter te xt by pressing keys on the QWERT Y keyboard, by selecting characters on the vir tual keypad, or by inputting handwriting on the screen. Y ou cannot enter te xt in some languages. T o enter text, you should change the writing language to one of the suppor ted languages.

Getting star ted 35 Set up a ser ver acc ount › In Idle mode, open the application list and select 1 Settings → A ccounts and sync . Select 2 Add ac count → an account type.
Communication 36 C ommunication Calling Learn to use calling functions, such as making and answering calls, using options av ailable dur ing a call or customising and using call-relat ed featur es. Make and answ er a call › Y ou can use the buttons or the touch scr een when you make, accept, end , or reject calls.
Communication 37 Answ er a c all When a call comes in, drag 1 right until it reaches the dot. When the device is ringing , press the V olume key to mute the ringtone . T o end the call, select 2 End call . Reject a c all When a call comes in, drag lef t until it reaches the dot .
Communication 38 Use options during a call › Y ou can use the follo wing options while a call is in progr ess: T o adjust the voice v olume, press the V olume key up or ● down. T o place a call on hold, select ● Hold . T o retrieve a held call , select Unhold .

Connectivity 82 C onnec tivit y Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology capable of ex changing information over a distance of about 10 m without requiring a ph ysical connection. Y ou do not need to line up the devices to beam inf ormation with Bluetooth.
