17 Getting Started Installing the SIM Card When y ou subscribe to a cellular network, you are provided with a pl ug-in SIM card loaded wi th your subscription details, such as your PIN, any optional services av ailable and so on.

29 Sele cting Fu nction s and Option s Y our phone offers a set of functions that allow you to customise it. These functions are arr ang ed in menus and sub -menus, accessed using the two soft keys marked and . Each menu and sub-menu allows yo u to v iew and alter the settin gs of a particular funct ion.

31 Phone Bo ok Y ou can store phone number s and their corresponding nam es in both your SIM card and your ph o ne’ s memories. Th ey are ph ysically separate but are used as a single entity , called Phone Book .

49 Options During a Call Y our phone provid es a number of contro l functions that you can use during a call . Putting a Call on Hold Y ou can place the current call on hold whenever you want. Y ou can make another call while you have a call in progress if your network supports this service.

64 Text Messages Short Message Serv ice (SM S) allows you to send and receive short tex t mess ages to and from o ther GSM m ob i le ph o n es. In ad di tion , y o ur pho n e supports the Enhanced Messag ing Service (EMS) , which enables you to include simple photos, melodies, and animated images in your messages.

Call Records 90 Receiv ed Ca lls (Menu 3 .2) This menu lets you vi ew the last 20 numbers of the calls you received. The number or name, if available, displays together with the tim e and dat e w h en the call w as re ceiv ed .
Call Records 91 Delete All (Menu 3 .4) This menu allows you to delete all of the records in each call record. Y ou can also delete all of your call records at one time . Call Records 92 Call Time (Menu 3. 5) This menu lets you view the timers for calls you mad e a n d re c ei ved . Note : The actual time invoiced for calls by your servi ce provid er may vary , depe nding on network features, rou nding-off for billing purp oses and so on.
Call Records 93 Call Cost (Menu 3.6) This network feature lets y o u v iew the co st of calls. This menu may not be av ailable depending on your SIM car d.
