These T ones are divided into eight categories, called Groups. Selecting “normal” T ones 1. Press the T ONE button of the Group that c ontains the T one you need.

KR-11 Owner’s Manual — T ones and related functions 22 Note: Whe n using Octave Shift, you may sometimes not ice that notes to the far rig ht of the keyboard sound in the “wrong” octave. That is because all T ones have an upper limit beyond which the y cannot be transposed.

The most pop- ular T one combination for lay ers is piano and strings, but you ar e free to use an y T one combination you lik e.
KR-11 Owner’s Manual — Playing with accompaniment (Arranger) 24 7.1 What is an Arranger? Think of the Arranger’ s M usic St yles as your backup band. Y our KR -11 is capable of playing several “varia- tions” (called divisions) of a g iven ac companiment.

Y ou can play mor e than three chord not es, but remember that two notes w on ’t cause the A rr anger to change chor ds. 31 KR-11 – Recording ENGLISH ENGLISH ENGLISH ENGLISH 8.1 Recor ding Normal r ecording The KR -11 also features a “Composer” that functions like a digital tape rec order . Y ou can rec ord y our own songs, as well as play songs using c ommercially a vail- able music data.
KR-11 Owner’s Manual — Recording and Playback 32 Recor ding Minus-One performances Minus-One r efers to a technique wher eby a Standar d MIDI File is used as backup , while y ou can mut e the part you wish to play (usually the melod y). Thanks t o Minus-One, you can mute an y part of a Standard MIDI File and play (and r ecor d) it yourself.
33 KR-11 – Playing back a Composer song ENGLISH ENGLISH ENGLISH ENGLISH 8.2 Playing back a Composer song 1. Press the [RESET] b utton to “r ew ind” to the begin- ning of the song. By pressing [RESET], you will actually jump back to the first measure of the song, which is similar t o using the SKIP function of a CD play er .
KR-11 Owner’s Manual — Composer Menu 34 The song in the Composer’ s memor y is erased when the power is turned off. If you don ’t want t o lose it, use the method described below . The number of songs that can be saved onto a disk depends on the amount of performance data they contain, but the maximum number of songs you can sav e is 99.
