2.2 Connecting User System Interface Cable to User System W ARNING Always switch OFF the user system and the emulator product before the USER SYSTEM INTERFACE CABLE is connected to or removed from any part. Before connecting, make sure that pi n 1 on both sides are correctly aligned.
6 2.2.3 Inserting Cable Head CAUTION Check the location of pin 1 before inserting. Align pin 1 on the IC socket for an TFP-80C package on the user system wi th pin 1 on the user system interface cable head, and inse rt the user system interface cable head into the IC socket on the user system, as shown i n figure 3.
Fasten the user system interface cable head to the IC socket fo r an TFP-80C package on the user system wit h the four screws (M2.6 x 12 mm ; with four flat washers) provided. Each screw should be tightened a little at a time, alternating between screws on opposing corners.

14 Section 4 Verifying Operation 1. When using the H8/300L series E6000 emulat or (HS3L08EPI60H), turn on the emulat or according to the procedures described in the H8/300L Series E6000 Em ulator User' s Manual (HS3008EPI60HE). 2. Verify the user system interface cable c onnections by accessing ports and checking the bus states of the pins.

4. The P60 to P67 pins are CMOS large-current port s in the MCU, but in the em ulator, they are normal ports. However, when this user system interface cable is used, a large current of I OL = 10.0 mA (m ax.) can be output from the ports by changi ng the P5 jumper setting.
Section 5 Notice 1. Make sure that pin 1 on the user syst em IC socket is correct ly aligned with pin 1 on t he cable head before inserting the cable head into the user system IC socket. 2. The dimensions of t he recommended m ount pad for the user system IC socket are different from those of the MCU.
6. The flash memory functi ons of the H8/3644 series are not supported by the emulator. Therefore, do not apply 12 V to Vp p/P90 and TEST pins. If 12 V is ap plied, the emulator will detect it as the test mode. The Vpp/ P90 and TEST pins have circuits for protection against 12-v applicati on, as shown in figure 12.
