4 Hotplate Burners Gas burners The drawing by each knob indicates which burner that knob controls. There is a spark ignition sy stem that works when the knob is pressed in. Push in and turn a knob to the solid fl ame symbol ( ). The igniter should spark and light the gas.
5 The W ok cradle The W ok cradle is designed to fi t a T yphoon™ Pr ofessional 35cm W ok (P art Code 13840S) This is available fr om leading retailers . If you use a diff erent W ok make sure that it fi ts the cradle. W oks vary ver y widely in size and shape.
6 The Griddle 1 The griddle fi ts a single pan suppor t, front to back. It is designed for c ooking food on directly . Don ’ t use pans of any kind on it. The g riddle sur face is non-stick and metal cooking utensils (e.g. spatulas) will damage the surface.
7 The Glide - out™ Grill Caution: A cc essible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Y oung children should be kept a wa y . Before using the grill for the fi rst time, make sure that all pack.
8 The Ovens During use the appliance becomes hot . Car e should be taken to a void touching the hea ting elements inside the ov en. Before using for the fi rst time, to dispel manufacturing odours turn the ovens to 230°C and run for an hour .
9 The Clock Y ou can use the timer to turn the left hand Multifunction O ven on and off . T he clock must be set to the time of day bef ore this ov en will work. T o set the time of day Pr ess and hold as above . At the same time , press (-) or (+) until the correct time shows .
10 T o ac tivate the k ey lock Make sure that the clock is in manual mode and cancel any active pr ograms. Hold the Minute Minder ( ) and Cooktime ( ) buttons for about 8 seconds . ‘On ’ will appear on the display . Pr ess the ‘+’ button once.
11 When the oven is on, don ’t leave the door open for longer than necessary, otherwise the knobs may get very hot. • Always leav e a ‘fi ngers width’ between dishes on the same shelf .
12 F an assisted oven This function operates the fan, circulating air heated by the elements at the top and the base of the oven. The combination of fan and conv entional cooking (top and base heat) makes this function ideal for cooking large items that need thor ough cooking, such as a large meat roast.
13 To r e fi t the shelf, line up the shelf with a g roov e in the oven side and push the shelf back until the ends hit the shelf stop . Lift up the front so the shelf ends clear the shelf stops, and then lo wer the front so that the shelf is level and push it fully back.
14 Multi-function O ven cooking guide Remember - not all functions will be suitable for all food types. The oven control settings and c ooking times given are intended to be used only as a guide . Individual tastes may require the temper ature to be altered to provide a preferr ed result.

16 Cleaning your c ooker Essential information Before thor ough cleaning isolate the electricity supply . Remember to swit ch on the electricity supply and reset the clock befor e using the cooker . Never use pain t solvents , washing soda, caustic cleaners, biological pow ders, bleach, chlorine based bleach cleaners, coarse abr asiv es or salt.
17 To fi t the small inner burner , fi nd the larger electrode notch in the burner rim. Line this up with the white ignition electrode and place the inner burner on the large base ring . 19 Main Oven The oven has r emovable panels that hav e been coated with a special enamel that partly cleans itself. This does not stop all marks on the lining , but helps to reduce the amount of manual cleaning needed . The Cook & Clean panels work better abov e 200°C.
20 P ow er failure In the event of a failure in the electrical supply the hotplate may be lit using a match. F ood is cooking too slowly , too quickly , or burning Cooking times may diff er from your previous oven. Check that y ou are using the rec ommended temperatures and shelf positions .
21 General Safety Instruc tions In the UK:- The hotplate must be installed by a C ORGI register ed engineer . The installation must be in accor dance with the installation instructions and comply with the relevant regulations and also the local gas and electricity supply companies’ requirements.
22 Use a deep fat thermometer whenever possible t o prevent o verheating fat beyond the smok ing point. Never leave a chip pan unattended . Always heat f at slowly , and watch as it heats. Deep fr y pans should be only one third full of fat. F illing the pan too full of fat can c ause spill ov er when food is added.
