5 IN ST ALLA TION Your tele phone connect s d irectly to a modular telep hone line ja ck. Choose a mounting location for the phone t hat i s near a m odula r phone jack a nd aw ay from normal activities. If your telephone wiring do es not have a modula r jack, you can upd ate the wiring yourself.

11 OPE RA TION SETTI NG T HE DIAL ING MO DE Set PULSE/ TO NE for the type of phone service you have, either tone or pulse (rotary). If you are not s ure whi ch type you have, do t his si mpl e test. 1. Set PULSE/T ONE beneath the phone t o TONE . 2. Lift the handset and listen f or a dial tone.
12 REDIAL Each time you dial a telepho ne number, the phone st ores it in a redi al memory. The redial m emory hol ds up to 3 2 di gits in either pulse or tone mode. To quickly redial the last number dia led, lift the handset and pres s REDIAL (the large button in the cente r of th e dial pad ).
