5 Polar izatio n — T his pr odu ct is equipped wi th a polarized AC line plug (a plug havin g one blade wider than the other). This plu g will fit in the po w- er outl et only one way. This is a saf ety feature. If y ou c annot inse r t the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing th e plug.

8 PREPARA TION CONNECTING THE CD CHANGER Follow these st eps to conne c t the CD changer to your audio system a nd to power. 1. Select a location for your CD changer that is near your receiver/ amplifier and a standard A C out- let. Cautio n: Do not place t he CD changer on top of t h e receiver/am- plifier or any o ther comp onent that gets hot.
9 2. Install the bat teries in the com- partment as indicated by the po- larity symbols (+ and –) marked insid e. 3. Replace the cover . You can use the remote control up to a di stance of about 20 f eet. If t he re- mote control operates erratically or does not work, repl ace bo th batteries.
10 OPE RATION LOADING CDS Your CD changer can pla y 5-inch or 3- inch CDs. Follow these steps t o load CDs. 1. Press POWER on the CD c hanger . The displ ay light s. 2. Press OPEN/CLOSE to op en the disc tray . Cautio n: Do not force the com - partment open or closed.
11 1. T urn on your re c eiver/amplifier and select the audio input to which you conn ected your CD changer (for exam ple, CD, AUX, or T APE). 2. Press PLA Y to play the CD i n the play position from Track 1. PLA Y appears. T o select a different CD, see “Se- lecting a CD ” on Page 12.
12 SELECTING A CD To s elect a CD, press that DISC NO. ( 1 – 5 ) button on the remot e control, then press PLA Y . The s ele cted CD plays from Trac k 1. To select the CD in the nex t hi gher- numbered disc holder, press DISC SKIP . Th e CD changer m oves to the next higher-numbered disc holder and begins t o play t hat CD.
13 Or, while the CD i s stopped or paused, press or until the desired track number appears . To quickly locate a track during pro- grammed play, hold down or until y ou reach t he desired track. Note: If you try to ad vance past the CD’s last track, the changer starts counting again f rom Track 1.
14 SPEC IAL FE ATURES AUDIBLE SEARCH Use this f eature during play to rapidly search forward or backward f or a spe- cific section of a t rack on a CD. During audible search, the CD p lays at a lo w- er volume and a high er spee d. To search f orward or b ackward, hold down SEARCH or on the re- mote control.
15 SHUFFLE PLAY To set the CD changer to sele ct and play all tracks in random order from the loa ded CD s or from a pro- grammed sequenc e, before or during play, press SHUFFLE . SHUF FLE ap - pears. To ca ncel shuffle pl ay at any t ime, press SHUFFLE until SHUF FLE di sa p- pears, or press STOP .
16 PLAYING A SEQ UENCE OF T RACKS You can prog ram up t o 32 selec ti ons to play i n any order you choose. A “se- lection” can be an indi vidual track or an entire CD.
17 Ch ecking/C hang ing the Prog ra mmed Seq uenc e Pr ess STOP to c ancel the current fun ct io n . P re ss MEMORY CHECK . The CD changer displays the program med sequence’ s first selection. Each time you press M EMORY CHECK , t he CD changer displays the next pro- grammed selection.
18 T ROUBLES HOOTING With proper care and handling, you r CD changer shou ld gi ve you years of trouble- free service. How ever, if your CD-8150 is n ot working prope rly, follow these sug- gestions to see if you can eliminat e the problem. If you still hav e a problem , take the CD change r to your local Radi oShack store for a ssistance.

20 CD CARE TIPS Even tho ugh a compact disc is very durable, trea t the C D surfac e with care. Here are some tips: • Do not pl ac e anything but a CD in the disc t r ay . Th is can damage the drive mechanism. • Do not write on ei ther side of the CD, particularly the non-label side (signals are r ead from the non-la- bel side).
