- 1 - W elcome! Our duplicator is a reliable, high performance, high speed, standalone CD and/or DVD dupli cator . W ith its professional industrial design and simple beginn er user interface, it will m ake your duplicating experien ce easier than ever .
- 2 - 4. External Connection W arning: If you have an external connecti on installed in your duplicator , you will see the USB/Firewire sw itch(s) on the back of your duplicator , and/or USB/Firewire sticker(s) on your writer front drive panel(s).
- 3 - 7. Double Layer Partition Issue Attention: If you have a 16x speed or higher duplicator with double layer/dual layer DVD9 capability , the hard drive partitions are set at the def ault size of 9GB each to accommodate for the expanded size of the DVD9 format.

- 5 - T utorial Guide: I. Make Disc-to-Disc Copies This process will copy your m aster disc into several blank discs simultaneously . However , due to its sim ultaneous nature, a good conditioned master disc and lower recording speed is necessary for high success rate and good quality duplications.
- 6 - Make sure it is located at the “ Reader Port ”. If not, then you need to press UP or DOWN navigation button to search for it. If your duplicator does not equip any Reader port, then please choose the device with the W riter Port number as your Master Reading Source.
- 7 - b. Then. you will see the Counter Selection Menu like the following: c. The Counter Selection Menu will let you choose how many copies you want to make fo r your project. This Counter Selection feature will allow the duplicator to count the number of copies you’ve ma de and prom pt you when the desired number of copies has been made.
- 8 - T o enter the number , you need to use UP or DOWN button to select the number for each digit and use “>>” or “<<” button to move the cursor position right o r left, once you’ve finished, move the cursor to “OK” and press “>>”.
- 9 - Now you shall see the following screen: OR If either one of the ABOV E 2 screens are displayed for more than 2 minutes, please check your Master Disc or Blank Discs for quality . d. Please allow 5-10 seconds for th e duplicator to detect your Master Disc and Blank Discs as well.
- 10 - Once the number of blank discs you inserted matches the number of discs detected on the screen. Then press “>>” (if you are not using Auto S tart or wish to speed up the process) to confirm and the following Processing screen will appear .
- 1 1 - Once the duplication run is com pleted, the successf ul copies will be ejected and you shall see the following screen: O Next, refill more blank medi a to continue making more copies, or you can press “<<” to terminate your project and go back to the main menu.
- 12 - T utorial Guide: II. Make Hard Drive(HDD)-to-Dis c Copies (For Duplicator w / HDD installed) Copying from the Hard Drive is the best way to make copies. Overall, there are 4 benefits to copying from the Hard Drive: i. Performance – Duplicating from the Hard Drive will be able to boost the DVD duplication speed to 8x or above.
- 13 - For example, if you have a 40GB Hard Drive, then you can calculate the number of DVD-5 fo rmat partitions by: 40 / 5 = 8. Since there is 1 partition reserv ed for the system use, you will have 7 partitions to use. Or you can calculate the number of DVD-9 format partitions by: 40 / 9 = 4.
- 14 - a. Use UP or DOWN arrow button to navigate to the following screen. b. Press “>>” to enter Select Source Menu and you shall see the following: Make sure it is located at “ Hard Drive” . If not, then you need to press UP or DOWN navigation button to search for it.
- 15 - b. Press “>>” to enter Hard Drive Setup Menu and you shall see the fo llowing: c. Now , load your master disc on to the Hard Drive. T o do so, use UP or DOWN arrow button to navigate to the following screen. d. Press “>>” to enter Load Partition Menu and you shall see the following: e.
- 16 - f. Now , you can name the partition you are about to load into the Hard Drive. T o enter the name, you need to use the UP or DOWN buttons to select th e character and use “>>” or “<<” button to move the cursor position and once you’ve finished, move the cursor to “OK” and press “>>”.
- 17 - g. Now you shall see the following confirmation screen: h. Press “>>” button to confirm. Once your master disc has been recognized. The loading progress indic ator will be displayed and you shall see the following i.
- 18 - b. Use UP or DOWN arrow bu tton to navigate to the following screen. 4. S tart the Copy Process. a. Now , please insert your blank discs into the writer trays (make sure the Reader T ray is empty) and press “>>” button to enter COPY menu.
- 19 - Or , you can select “Specify Counter” between 1 to 9999 by pressing the UP or DOWN naviga tion button to the below screen: Then please press “>>” button to sub mit. Y ou shall see the screen below: T o specify the number of copies for your project, you need to enter/input a 4-digit number .
- 20 - iii. Press “DOWN” button cons ecutively until “0” is displayed. iv. Press “>>” button once to move the cursor to the next position. v. Press “DOWN” button cons ecutively until “2” is displayed. vi. Press “>>” button once to move the cursor to the next position.
- 21 - d. Please allow 5-10 seconds for th e duplicator to detect your Hard Drive partition and Bla nk Discs as well. After your Hard Drive partition and Blank Discs have been recognized, then you shall see the following screen: By default, the “Auto S tart” setting is set to “Auto”.
- 22 - e. After 2 or 3 seconds of processing time, the following Copy Progress Screen will appear . Counter Specified No Counter OR It is normal to see the pr ogress indicator stays at 0- 10% and 100% for approximately 30 seconds for CD duplication and up to 1 minute for DVD duplication.
- 23 - Next, refill more blank medi a to continue making more copies, or you can press “<<” to terminate your project and go back to the main menu.
- 24 - T utorial Guide: III. Select the Duplication Speed This process will allow you to adjust the duplication speed subject to your various needs. By default, the duplication speed will be set to the optimal speed. However , under some ci rcumstances, you might want to lower down the duplication speed.
- 25 - 2. Enter Speed Selection Menu. Then, you can press “>>” button to enter into Speed Selection Menu. Y ou shall see the following: 3. Select Duplication Speed T ype. There are four types of recording speed: • CD to CD: Copy CD Disc to CD-R Discs directly .
- 26 - 4. Select Desir ed Duplication Speed. Once you have submitted the duplication speed type, you shall see the fo llowing: Y ou can press UP or DOWN button to select the desired speed and then press “>>” to submit your speed selection. 5.
- 27 - T utorial Guide: IV . Select the Master Rea ding Sour ce When you try to make a copy , you need to specify where the master disc is. Is it in the Reader tray? Or is it an Image inside the Hard Drive? This tutorial will show you how to change the Master Reading Source to satisfy your needs.
- 28 - iv. Convenience – W ith your master discs stored inside the Hard Drive, you can have access to each one easily . There is no need to carry your master discs; they are all stored inside the duplicator . • Disc-to-Disc copy (read for W RITER tray) – This is the case when your master disc is full of scratches.
- 29 - 3. Select Desir ed Master Reading Device. Y ou can press UP or DOWN button to select the desired Master Reading Source. Then, you can press “>>” to submit your Source Selection.
- 30 - T utorial Guide: V . Load Master Disc onto the Hard Drive In order to copy from the Hard Dr ive, you are required to load your master disc onto a hard drive partition.
- 31 - b. Press “>>” to enter Select Source Menu and you shall see the fo llowing: Make sure it is located at “ Hard Drive” . If not, then you need to press UP or DOWN navigation button to search for it. c. Press “>>” to submit your selection.

Now , you have a choice to load your master disc into a new (empty) partiti on or overwrite one of the existing partitions if any exists. Y ou can simple press UP or DOWN arro w button to select your partition and press “>>” to submit.
- 33 - f. Now , you can name the partition you are about to load into the Hard Drive. T o enter the name, you need to use UP or DOWN button to select the character and use “>>” or “<<” button to move the cursor position and once you’ve finished, move the cursor to “OK” and press “>>”.

- 35 - T utorial Guide: VI. Rename Existing Hard Drive Partition Name When you load your master disc to a hard drive partition, you are asked to give it a name. However , if you don’t like the name you entered before, you can rename it at anytim e afterwards.

- 38 - T utorial Guide: VII. Delete Existing Hard Drive Partition Permanently If for some reason you would like to delete your existing hard drive partition permanently , you can do the following: 1. Use UP or DOWN arr ow button to navigate to the following scr een.
- 39 - 5. Use UP or DOWN arr ow button to find the desired partition and then press “>>” to submit your selection and you shall see the follo wing: 6. Press “>>” to confirm and you shall see the following for 2 seconds. 7. Then, you w ill be dir ected back to Hard Drive Setup Menu.
- 40 - T utorial Guide: VIII. Changing the Hard Drive Partition Size If you have a 16x speed or hi gher duplicator with double layer/dual layer DVD9 capability , the hard drive partitions are set at the default size of 9GB each to accommodate for the expanded size of the DVD9 format.

- 42 - T utorial Guide IX. Change the SETUP settings Most of the internal settings and information is stored inside the SETUP menu. T o explore and modify them is simple.
- 43 - 5. Use UP or DOWN arr ow button to modify the setting to “Full” and then pr ess “>>” to submit your selection and you shall see the follo wing: 6. If you would like to modify mor e settings, then please go back to step 3. Otherwise, pr ess “<<” button to bring you back to main menu.
- 44 - T utorial Guide: X. Audio CD Editing This process will guide you to perf orm the Audio T rack Selection feature. This process will help you combine audio tracks from various CDs into a single customized audio CD.
- 45 - 1. Going to the “Edit Audio T rack” menu Press UP or DOWN arrow button to navigate to the following screen. 2. If your duplicator does not have a Hard Drive installed, please skip to S tep 5.
- 46 - 3. Once you made your selection, you shall see the follow ing: OR When you see above, please insert an audio CD that contains your favorite track(s) in the Ma ster Reading T ray and a blank CD-R media into one of W riter T rays.
- 47 - Y ou can press “>>” button to submit your selection. Y ou will see the following: If the capacity of total audi o tracks you have selected is more than your blank CD-R disc’ s capacity , you shall see the following two screens f lashing: If you see messages above, please press “>>” button to continue.
- 48 - If you choose to insert another au dio CD for more songs, you need to press DOWN arrow button unt il you see the fo llowing screen: Then, press “>>” button to conti nue. After that, your old master disc will be ejected and you can in sert another audio CD into the Reading T ray .
- 49 - When the whole process completes, your m ixed copy will be ejected and you shall see the following: Then, you will be directed back to the main m enu: NOTES Job Completed! Press OK to Finish DUPLICATOR 5.
- 50 - Example of Editing Audio T racks to Hard Drive (For Duplicators w ith Hard Drive Installed): W e need to create a new Audio CD from 2 different Discs. CD1: song 2, and song 4 CD2: song 3, song 4 and song 5 1. Go to function 1 1. Edit Audio T rack 2.

- 54 - T utorial Guide XI. Introduction to Account Management Feature This feature allows you, the admini strator , to have the power to: 1. Create user accounts and passwords to prevent unauthorized use of this duplicator . 2. Edit existing user account information, including name and password.
- 55 - 3. Enable the Account Management feature by turning ON the “Password on Boot UP” setting. Please refer to Feature Overview “5. Password on Bootup” below for more information. This duplicator comes with standard license which allows you to create up to 32 users.
- 56 - Once your password is validated, you will be guided to the main Manage Accounts screen like below: There ar e five menus in the Manage Accounts: 1. V iew User This menu allows you to view current existing user accounts. - User “Admin” is the administrative account.
- 57 - Press “>>” button to enter in to this menu and press “<<” button to go back to the main menu or cancel the curren t selection. 3. Edit User Info This menu allows you to change the existing user account’ s name and password.
- 58 - - User “Admin” is the administrative account; you can NOT delete this account. Press “>>” button to enter in to this menu and press “<<” button to go back to the main menu or cancel the curren t selection. 5. Password on Bootup This menu allows you to enable/disable account management upon boot up.
- 59 - T utorial Guide XII. Introduction to Duplication Mode In order to achieve 8x or hi gher duplication performance; there are 3 factors that need to be certified as 8x or higher speed: 1.

- 63 - Setup Guide I. Setup IEEE 1394 Firewir e / USB 2.0 device(s) For first time use 1. T urn your duplicator off if it is running. 2. T urn your computer off if it is running. 3. Set the IEEE 1394 Firewire/USB 2.0 switch to “ON” at the back of your duplicator .
- 64 - Menu Overview: 1. COPY This menu will guide you to m ake CD/DVD copies. Before you enter this menu to copy , please make sure you have selected the correct Master Reading Source. For more information, please refer to “ T utorial Guide I – Make Disc- to-Disc Copies ” or “T utorial Guide II – Make Hard Drive(HDD)-to-Disc Copies” 2.
- 65 - 4. TEST + COPY This menu will guide you to perf orm the simulation of copying process and if everything has passed during the simulation, a real copying pro cess will be performed. If there’ s an error encountered during the simulation, an error message will be displayed and the co pying process will not be initiated.
- 66 - 9. ERASE This menu will guide you to eras e your rewriteable discs in the WRITER T ray . There are two options to erase your rewriteable discs: Full Erase: It will erase th e entire disc which will make it impossible to be recovered. Quick Erase: It will erase the index of the rewritable disc, not the data section.
- 67 - When it is Of f, the copy process requires you to press “>>” button to confirm the duplication. When it is Auto, if your duplic ator has detected 3 blank discs on a 4 target or higher duplicator for example and didn’t detect any additional blank discs for 30 seconds, then the duplication will be started autom atically .
- 68 - 12.6 Buzzer This setting will allow you to choose whether you want to hear a beep when you press a button or when a task has been completed. 12.7 S tartup Menu This setting will allow you to choose which menu you would like to see first when you turn on the duplicator .

Utility 13.1 Disc Info If you are uncertain about the type of blank recordable media you are using, the duplicat or is equipped with the disc info function to help identify and notify you of the disc information encoded within. This function (Disc Info) can be f ound in the “Utility” menu.
- 70 - 13.4 Device Info By entering this menu, you will be able to see the information for devices built insid e your duplicator . That information includes but lim ited to manufacture, model number , etc. 13.5 Load Default This function will reset all of the op tions back to manufacture’ s default.
- 71 - T urning off your duplicator withou t perform this function will increase the risk of damaging your duplicator . NOTES.
- 72 - T rouble Shooting 1. No display on LCD or the unit does not operate when the pow er is on. 9 Check the connection of power cable and the environment of power outlet is normal. 9 Make sure the power voltage matches the volt age of your power outlet.
- 73 - 5. The failure rate is high. 9 Lower the “write speed” and try again. Please refer to “ T utorial III – Select the Duplication Speed .” 9 Quality of blank disc may be poor .
