Getting Started 1 Section 1: Getting Started THANK Y OU… ...for purchasing the BravoPro TM A utoPrinter . The BravoP ro is the perfect all-in- one solution for printing professional looking CDs and DVDs. Operation is simple and completely automatic once a job has been started.
2 Getting Started B. UNP ACKING AND INSPECTION While unpacking your Printer , inspect the carton to ensure that no damage has occurred during shipping.

IDENTIFYING THE P ARTS F r ont Panel and T op This illustration shows the Printer , its Control P anel, Buttons, LED indicator lights , Input and Output Bins and other components. The R obotic Disc T ransporter moves discs from the Input Bin, to the printer , and finally to the Output Bin.
4 Getting Started The Input/Output Bins are situated under the top cover of the Printer . The bins will hold up to 50 discs. The right-side bin is the Input Bin for blank media; the left-side bin is the Output Bin for finished discs. The F r ont Cover is a durable plastic cover that will protect the Printer from dust and interference.
Getting Started 5 • F ree hard drive space of at least 10 GB. • A vailable USB P ort. If your PC does not have these minimum system requirements, system perfor mance may not be acceptable. E. MAC SY STEM REQUIREMENTS Before getting started, it is important for you to verify that your computer meets the recommended system requirements.
6 Getting Started 2. The Robotic Disc T ransporter will pick a disc from the Input Bin. After each disc is placed in the printer , the Robotic Disc T ransporter checks the input stack to "see" if multiple discs were accidentally picked. 3. Printing will now begin.
Hardware and Software Setup 7 Section 2: Hardwar e and Softwar e Setup Set-Up This section will describe the step-by-step process of setting up your Printer . This includes infor mation on how to load the supplies (ink and disc media) necessary to start printing discs.
8 Hardware and Software Setup c. Double-click on the A utoPrinterP r o Installer .mpkg file icon. F ollow the on-screen instr uctions. d. The volume containing the operating system should be selected for installation. Click the Continue button. All components will be installed to their proper locations.
Hardware and Software Setup 9 • Open the front cover of the Printer • The Printer will automatically position the cartridge carrier and Robotic Disc T ransporter to the center position allowing for easy access to the bins.
10 Hardware and Software Setup Step 3: Connecting the USB 2.0 Cable Connect the Printer to your PC or Mac with your beige USB 2.0 Cable. If you are using a PC, after a few moments, W indows will tell you it has found new hardware and is looking for software to install it.

Step 4: Installing Ink Car tridges • W ith the cover open, press the Ink Cartridge Button to move the Ink Cartridge Carrier to the load position and open the ink cartridge covers.
12 Hardware and Software Setup D. TUT ORIAL: PRINTING DISCS ON A PC The SureThing Disc Labeler software included with your Printer is a great tool for creating professional looking discs. Y ou can use SureThing's Smart Designs to quickly label a disc, or easily import your own design in many popular file formats.
Hardware and Software Setup 13 3. Click Browse to look through the many built-in back- grounds included with SureThing, or click Clear if you would like to import your own background or design. Click Ne xt . 4. Check Use Smart Designs to browse through different built-in designs.
14 Hardware and Software Setup 5. Click F inish . Y ou should now see your basic layout. Simply double click on text bo xes to modify the standard text with your information. If you want to import your own graphics, click Photos/Clipart to browse for images.
Printing Discs on a PC 15 Section 3: P rinting Discs on a PC The printer driver allows you to adjust quality , speed and other settings. Both will be described in detail in this section.
16 Printing Discs on a PC NO TE: Most applications allow you to change these same printer driver options from their "Print" and/or "Printer Setup" screens. This means that you don't have to go back to the main printer setup window each time you want to change a setting or option in the printer driver .
Printing Discs on a PC 17 Business Card Disc - This prints to the 58mm by 86mm rectangular business card CD -r media (Primera P art Number 53340). Hockey Rink Disc - This setting is for the rounded edge or , "Hockey Rink", shaped business card CD-r media (Primera P art Number 53341).
18 Printing Discs on a PC Ink Saturation This option controls the ink saturation of the printed image. When printing onto the printer manufacturer's T uffCoat CD media, this option can be left at its default setting of 100%.
Printing Discs on a PC 19 Center T he Print Image NO TE: Y our printer comes from the factor y pre-calibrated to print the image in the center of the CD.
20 Printing Discs on a PC 5. Along the V ertical axis of the printed disc, find the number whose lines touch. F or example, in the above illustration, Enter the number 2 into the V ertical box of the Calibration window and 0 for the Horizontal axis. 6.
Printing Discs on a PC 21 Change Car tridge(s) Select the Change Cartridge(s) button to install a new ink cartridge or to switch back and forth between previously used cartridges.
22 Printing Discs on a PC Disc Output Location This can be set either Normal (Left Bin acts as output), or Kiosk (finished discs deposited out the F ront Exit). The default is Normal (Left Bin). B. Printing Discs on a PC 25 C. USING OTHER GRAPHICS PR OGRAMS While SureThing will handle most labeling needs, some people prefer to use other graphic programs. Y our printer driver allows you to print from most any graphics application. The driver will center the image and automatically crop it to the shape of a CD.

Printing Discs on a Mac 27 4. Before you print or save your image in another for mat, either hide the template layer or delete the template layer . The circular shape and center cut out should not be printed. Use it only as a guide to layout your image.
28 Printing Discs on a Mac 2. The paper sizes for the Printer refer to the type of disc to which you will be printing. The available sizes are: CD/DVD, Business Card Disc, 80mm CD Hock ey Rink Disc and Digital V inyl Disc. Print Settings Click P rint Setup to see the driver window and all of its settings.
Printing Discs on a Mac 29 The following is a description of the printer driver settings: • Cartridge to use The Black and Color setting will use both cartridges when printing your image. Color will only use the Color Cartridge, and Black Only will only use the monochrome cartridge for printing.
30 Printing Discs on a Mac • Outer Margin The Outer Margin refers to where the printing will cut off around the outer edge of your disc. The size of the printable surface can var y from one type of media to the next.
Printing Discs on a Mac 31 Y ou can also launch the Configuration Utility from the Disc Publisher P ro printer settings in any printing application by clicking F ile then Print and selecting P rinter Settings . In P rinter Settings you will find a button to launch the Configuration Utility .
32 Printing Discs on a Mac nozzles are not fully clear after a few cleaning prints, it may be necessary to remove the cartridge and actually clean the print head by gently blotting the nozzles with a moist cloth or paper towel and replace it in the Printer .
Printing Discs on a Mac 33 prompted to open the Printer's front cover , rotate the printed disc 180 degrees, reload it into the input, and close the cover . Click OK when ready and the Printer will pick the disc and print another scale of numbers.
34 Printing Discs on a Mac Look at the finished alignment disc and pick the numbers that come closest to lining up with one another . F or instance, on the disc shown in this manual, the vertical alignment is 2 and the horizontal alignment is 0. Enter this in the alignment dialog box.
Interpreting the Printer ’s Indicator Lights 35 Section 5: Interpr eting the P rinter's Indicator Lights The P ower and Busy LED indicator lights located on the top of the Printer can tell you a lot about what is happening inside the Printer .
36 Maintenance and T roubleshooting Section 6: Maintenance and T r oubleshooting The Printer is designed to operate for e xtended periods of time with very little attention. In fact, no regular maintenance is recommended other than cleaning the outside case.
