Chapter 1: Introduction Complying with the most innovative 802.1 1n te chnology , PLANET delivers a reliable and cost effective solu tion - WNL-9330. WNL-9330 is a PCI 2.2 wireless adapter whi ch integrates one transmit channel and two concurrent receive chan nels; thus, it supp ort s up to 150Mbp s uploa d and 300Mbp s download data rate.

Chapter 2: Inst allation 2-1 Hardware Installation Please follow the instructions to inst a ll your new PCI wireless net work card: 1. SWITCH THE COMPUTER OFF , remove the cover and insert th e wireless network card into an empty PCI slot of your computer .

Chapter 3: General Configuration The Configuration Utility appears as an icon o n the system tray of Windows while the card is running. Y ou can open the utility by double-click on the icon. Right click the icon; there are some items for you to operate the configuration utility .
Parameter Description Profiles List The profiles list display all t he profiles and the relative setting s of the profiles including Profile Name, SSID, Channel, etc. This sign indicates the activated profile is been connecting. This sign indicates the acti vated profile i s not been connecting.

Parameter Description Profile Name Define a recognizable profile name for you to identify the dif ferent networks. SSID The SSID (up to 32 print able ASCII characters) is the unique name identified in a WLAN. The ID prevent s the unintentio nal merging of two co-located WLANs.

3-4 Advanced Settings Parameter Description Wireless Mode 802.1 1 B/G/N mix – If you have a mix of 802.1 1b, 802.1 1g, and 802.1 1n wireless st ations in your network, It is to maximize wireless compatibility with wireless access p oints and other wireless devices.
Wireless Protection If you have a mix of 802.1 1b and 802.1 1g wireless st ations in the n etwork, it is recommended to enable the protection mech anism. This mechanism can decrease the rate of data colli sion between 802.1 1b and 802.1 1g wireless st ations.
T urn on CCKM During normal operation, LEAP-enabled client devices mutually authenticate with a new access point by performing a complete LEAP authentication, including communicatio n with the main RADIUS server .
3-5 QoS Setting This wireless network card provide s QoS (Qualit y of Service) function, which can improve the performance of cert ain network applications, like audio / video streaming, network telephony (V oIP), and others.
WMM - Power Save Enable Enable WMM power saving mode to save energy and let s your battery live longer . Setting... Click this button to select the WMM dat a type which will suppress the function of power saving. When this kind of data is transferring, power saving functi on will be disabled.
Click ‘WPS Configuration’ tab, and the following settings will appear: 3-6-1 WPS Setup - PBC (Push-Button Configuration) 1.Set ‘Config Mode’ to ‘Enrollee’, and then push the ‘WPS’ butt.
2. Before you start to est ablish the wireless connection by using WPS, you can click ‘Rescan ’ button to search for WPS -enabled access point s near you, to make sure the WPS function of your access point is activated.
3. All access points found will be di splayed. Pl ease make sure th e access point you wish to connect is displayed. If not, please click ‘Res can’ few more times. Y ou can also click ‘Information’ button to see the detailed information about sele cted access point.
Sometime WPS may fail, and you can click ‘PBC’ button few more times to try again. When an access point is connected, you c an click ‘Dis connect ’ to disconnect your wireless netwo rk card fr.
If you want to delete a found access point from the list, select it and click ‘Delete’ button. 3-6-2 WPS Setup - PIN The PIN number of your WNL-9330 is an eight-dig it number located at the uppe r-right position of configuration utility .
Click ‘PIN’ button now , and wait for few seconds to one minute. If a wireless acces s point with correct PIN code is found, you’ll be connected to that access p oint:.

Y ou may have to click ‘PIN’ for few more times to try again. If you still can not connect to access point by this way , please make sure the PIN code you provided to access point is correct.
3-7 About By choosing this option, you can click the hyper link to conn ect the PLANET website. You can also obtain basic information about the WN L-9330 such as the Driver, Utility and EEPROM Version. The MAC Address of the card i s displayed in the screen a s well.
Chapter 4: Sof t-AP Function Except becoming a wireless client of other wi reless access points, the WNL-93 30 can a ct as a wireless service provider also! Y ou can swit ch the WNL-9330’s ope ratin.
If your computer has a nother n etwork ca rd which is co nnected to Int ernet, please sele ct it from ‘Name’ dropdown menu, and click ‘Enable ICS’; if your computer does not hav e another network card with Internet connection, please click ‘ Not enable ICS’.
Parameter Description SSID Please input the SSID (the name used to identify this wireless access point) here. Up to 32 numerical charact ers can be accepted here, ex cepting space. Channel Please select the wirel ess channel you wish to use. The num ber of channels available here will vary d epends on the setting of ‘Country Region Code’.
Use MAC Address Click this b utton to use the MAC address of the wireless ca rd as SSID. A prefix of ‘AP’ will be added. Security Setting Set the security opti ons (w ireles s data encryp tion).
Default Click this button to restore a ll settings in this page back to default value. Apply Click this button to activate c urrent settings. T o exit, click ‘X’ button at the upper-ri ght corner of configuration window .
Encryption T ype Please select an encryptio n mode. The available options in this setting item will vary depending on th e authentication type you select. If you select ‘Not Us e’, data will not be encrypted and people with some netwo rking knowledge will be able to read the data you transfer with pro per tool.

Add A dd the MAC address you inputted in ‘MAC address’ field to the list. Delete Please select a MAC address from the l ist, then click ‘Delete’ button to remove it. Remove all Delete all MAC addresses in the list. Apply Save and apply changes you made.

4-5 Event Log This software access poi nt will log all wireless-related activities as a log. Y ou can follow the instructions to view the content of the event log: Click ‘Event Log’ tab, and the event log will be displayed: Y ou can click ‘Clea r’ to rem ove all entries in the log.
4-6 S tatistics If you want to know detaile d informatio n about ho w your softwa re access point works, you can follow the following instructions to view t he statistics of the acce ss point: Click ‘S tatistics’ tab, and t he event log will be displayed: Y ou can click ‘RESET COUNTERS’ button to reset all counters to zero.
