Chapter 1 Intr oduction Thank you for purchasing SKG-300 Personal V oIP Gateway . PLANET provides several types of Skype solution to meet various dem ands. A s illustrate d, customers can use any home phone for both Internet-b ased and standard telephony , without the need for special phone, headset s or microphones.

STEP 4: Connect a standard telepho ne handset to the SKG-300 phone jack using a telephone cable as shown be low STEP 5: Co nnect a telep hone cabl e betwee n the S K G-300 line jack and a wal l jack as sho wn bel ow .

Chapter 3 SKG-300 Configuration 3.1 Enable SKG-300 In order to use SKG-300 and its features, (1) the SKG-30 0 adapter must be plugged into the PC, (2) a telephone handset must be plugged into the SKG-.
Y ou may see the following screen, select the option, “ allow this program to use Skype” and press the OK button. Y ou should now see the SKGAgent in the Windows System T ray as shown below . Y ou are now ready to use the Planet Personal V oIP Gateway .
When the SKGAgent is not running, there is no phone in the syste m tray . 3.2 T esting SKG-300 Skype provides a useful feature to te st your connection. It is called Echo1 23. If you send “callme” in a chat with echo123, the echo12 3 service will call you and let you leave a message which will be played ba ck to you.
Y ou will see the following chat screen and you sh ould enter “callme” and press the Ent er key on your keyboard. Within 10-20 seconds, you should see the following screen, and the teleph one connected to the SKG-300 adapter should ring. Pick up the hand set and follow the inst ructions.
When the test concludes you can pre ss OK on the following screen. 19 and then press Finish on the following screen. 3.3 Making and Receiving Calls Y ou can continue to use the telephone hand set connected to the SKG-300 ad apter to make and receive standard tele phone calls as you used without any change.

3.9 T oll Bypass T oll bypass is similar to forwarding, except the in coming caller hears a beep, enters a pa ssword and then dials out an arbitrary number instead of fixed forw ardi ng as described in the previous se ction. There are two common scenari os for this.

The Initiate V oIP Call – press these keys to get a V oIP dial-t one. Y ou can now dial a SkypeOut™ call or a Skype™ speed dial call from your telephone hand set . The Send Key – press this key following the phone number (or speed dial numb er) when making a V oIP call.
33 When the uninst all in dicator disappears, the un-inst all ation is complete. 3.15 T roubleshooting The first step in troubleshooting is to read the re adme.txt that appears in the SKG-300 program group. It contain s a list of known issues for the current SKG-300 driver version.
Common Fix If SKG-300 was working O K and suddenly stop s working properly (e.g. stop s responding to i ncoming rings or you cannot get a V oIP dial tone) try the followin g: • Quit the SKGAgent (ri.
• If the Skype™ application was terminated for any reas on while the SKG-300 agent was running, you will need to exit the SKGAgent and then rest art it.
