EPG Shortcuts: Use the Channel Up/Down button to page up and page down the channels and programmes. Use the Skip Bac k/Forward buttons to move back and for ward 6 hours (in Horizontal EPG onl y).
35 34 5 Viewing Live TV 5.3 Aspect Ratio Correction Hong K ong DTT channels are always broadcast in 1 6:9 widescreen format. If the programme is 4:3, then blac k bars will be included in the broadcasted image on the sides of t he programme.
6.3 R ecording from the EPG The easiest way to record future progr ammes is to find t hem on the Electronic Programme Guides, highlight them and press on y our remote control. An icon will be shown ne xt to any programme scheduled for recording. If you wish to cancel a recording, simply highlight the programme and press on your remote control.
If you highlight a Scheduled Recording and press you will be presented with t he following options: T asks can also be cancelled by pressing the button on your remote control and answering yes to the confir mation.
Programme list On the r ight of the screen is a list of programmes. Once y our highlight bar is in the r ight-hand column, the list can be sor ted in many w ays by pressing one of the coloured buttons. Pressing the butt on again will toggle between an ascending or descending list.
This default setting can be c hanged in Main Menu Settings Recording Keep R ecorded Programme F or , and options include numbers of weeks, months, 1 year and ‘Fore ver’. Af ter the keep period has passed, Magic T V™ will mov e the f ile to T rash and the space will be made available for new recordings.
45 The Playback Timebar 6. 1 0 TimeShifting & P ausing Live TV If your Liv e T V viewing gets interrup ted and you don’t w ant to miss anything, you can press to freeze the action. Magic T V™ will ask if you w ant to enter TimeShif ting mode. If yes, it will remain paused and immediately begin recording the cur rent pr ogramme.
47 46 7.2 Video Video Output Format 50/60Hz As Hong K ong DTT pr ogrammes will normally be broadcast in 50Hz, selection of a 50Hz format from the list below is recommended. How ev er , some T Vs (perhaps from Japan or America where broadcasts are in 60Hz) may not happily accept a 50Hz signal.
