8 En INTRODUCTION Cautions on Using this Player Do not move the player during playback During playback, the disc spins at high speed, so do not lift or move the player . Doing so may damage the disc. When transporting the player Be sure to remove the disc and close the lid when transporting the player .
9 En INTRODUCTION English Cautions on Using this Player Cleaning the player Normally clean the player using a soft, dry cloth. For tough dirt, apply some neutral detergent diluted in 5 to 6 parts water to a soft cloth, wring out thoroughly , wipe off the dirt, then wipe off the player with a dry cloth.
10 En INTRODUCTION Operation of the battery pack • Charge the battery pack fully before using it for the first time. • When the surrounding temperature is high, the battery pack may sometimes be unusable due to activation of protection circuitry .

These marks indicate the type of video or audio signals recorded on the disc and the functions that can be used. Mark Meaning Indicates the number of audio tracks.
13 En INTRODUCTION English T ypes of Discs Playable on this Player DVDs are divided in units called titles, which are further divided in chapters. They also include menu screens that do not belong to any title. With movies, normally one movie corresponds to one title.

Advanced Functions 96 En ADV ANCED FUNCTIONS Programmed playback - DVDs Use the following procedure to play DVDs in a desired order . Up to 24 steps can be programmed. Remote control unit only 1 Press the PROGRAM button. The program screen appears. 2 Use the cursor buttons ( 2 / 3 ) to select “Program Chapter” or “Program T itle”.

Hints: • Pauses cannot be programmed at the first or last chapters or tracks.
Advanced Functions 100 En ADV ANCED FUNCTIONS Remote control unit only 2 Press the CLEAR button. The specified number is cleared and the numbers following it move up one step. Adding to programs 1 Use the cursor buttons ( 5 / ∞ / 2 / 3 ) to specify the position at which you want to add a step.
