T o ensure safe driving WARNING ! T o avoid the risk of accident and the potential violation of applicable laws, the front DVD or TV (sold separately) feature should never be used while the vehicle is being driven. Also, rear displays should not be in a location where they are visibly distracting to the driver .

Using the remote control operation mode switch There are two remote control operation modes on the remote control. If you want to operate this unit by remote control, select DVH mode. In this case, both the head unit ’ s buttons and remote control can control this unit.
Notes ! Listening to the radio while connecting a USB storage device to this unit may generate noise. In this case disconnect the USB sto- rage device. ! When this unit ’ s blue/white lead is connected to the vehicle ’ s auto-antenna relay control terminal, the vehicle ’ s antenna extends when this unit ’ s source is turned on.

Specifying track Y ou can use the search function to specif y a track to search for a desired track. ! This function is available for Video CD. ! Changing audio language during playback (Multi-audio) With DVDs that provides audio playback in different languages and different audio systems (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.), you can switch between languages/audio systems during playback. ! This function is available for DVD video, DivX and Video CD.
! This function is available for JPEG files. 1 Press M.C. to display the setting mode. 2 T urn M.C. to select the desired setting. ! 0 – Cancel the rotation ! 90 – Rotate 90 degrees ! 180 – Rotate 180 degrees ! – 90 – Rotate – 90 degrees 3 Press M.
Displaying text information The operation is the same as that of the compressed audio on the built-in DVD player . Refer to Displaying text information on page 15. Selecting files from the file name list The operation is the same as that of the built-in DVD player .

Changing the level Y ou ca n change the set parental lock level. 1 Move the thumb pad up or down to select P AR- ENT AL in GEN. 2 Click the thumb pad. P arental lock setting menu is displayed. 3 Press 0 to 9 to input the registered code number . 4 Move the thumb pad left or right to move the cur- sor to the previous or next position.
Y ou can connect AV components to the AV input with an RCA cable. Switch the AV input setting according to the con- nected AV component. For more details, refer to the installation manual. ! Select EXT -VIDEO to watch video of a conne cted video unit as EXTERNAL source.
Using an exter nal unit An external unit refers to a Pioneer product, such as those which will be available in the fu- ture. Although incompatible as a source, the basic functions of up to two external units can be controlled with this unit.
# DRC is only effective for Dolby Digital sound. # When selecting FM as the source, you cannot switch to SLA . # When you select T A :OFF in INITIAL , you can- not select FL . # Y ou cannot select AUTO EQ if auto T A and EQ has not been carried out. SET A-EQ is displayed.
Using the down-mix function Multi-channel audio can be played back in 2- channels with the down-mix function. 1 Use M.C. to select Lo/Ro (down mix) in the audio function menu. Refer to Introduction of DSP adjustments on page 33. 2 Press c or d to switch the down mix settings.

Recalling equalizer curves There are seven stored equalizer cur ves which you can easily recall at any time. Here is a list of the equalizer cur ves. ! The equalizer curves for CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 can be adjusted. ! When FLA T , no changes are made to the sound.
