6 Capturing images using the pr ojector The freeze function can be used to capture the moving pictures as still pictures . What is the SD memor y car d? The SD memor y card is a semiconductor memor y which at 24 mm x 32 mm x 2.1 mm is about the size of a postage stamp .

12 Capturing pr ojected images onto the SD memory car d It is possib le to capture images which are being projected from a source such as a connected computer or VCR, and sav e these captured images onto the SD memo r y card which has been inserted into the SD memor y card slot of the projector .

14 CARD PC card adapter SD memor y card Using the SD memor y car d in a Windo ws PC The accessor y PC card adapter can be used to inser t the SD memor y card into a computer with a b uilt-in PC (PCMCIA) card slot which is either T ype II or T ype III compatible.

18 $ $ $ $ $ Open the "DCIM" directory which has been created, press the " " and "N" ke ys to create a ne w f older (directory), and change the name of the directory to a name that conforms to the DCF standar d (example: 100abcde).
19 DCF standar d This projector can only pla y bac k image files which comply with the DCF specifica- tion. The DCF specification imposes the f ollo wing conditions . Image files or directo- ries which do not conform to these conditions cannot be recognised by the projector .
20 Con version of P owerP oint files (.ppt extension) to DCF-compliant JPEG images P owerP oint 97/2000 must be installed on the computer which is being used to do the conv ersion.

24 Chec king, sor ting and deleting images JPEG Conv er tor lets you enlarge the impor ted images which are displa y ed in the thumbnail screen f or chec king, and also lets y ou sor t the images into a par ticular order f or displaying during a presentation.
25 Con ver sion settings f or saving image s The conv ersion settings to be used when saving images onto the SD memor y card or into other f olders can be set using the Pref erences dialog box which appears when Pref erences is selected from the Setting menu, or using the Picture quality slider in the main application window .
