8 VQT 4U81 ∫ About batteries that you can use with th is unit The battery that can be used with this unit is VW-VBX070. Inserting/removing the battery ≥ Press the power button to turn off the unit.

10 VQT4U81 Charging the battery The unit is in th e s tand by condit ion when the AC adaptor is conn ected. The primary ci rcuit is always “live” as long as the AC adapt or is connec ted to an electr ical out let. Important: ≥ The AC adap tor and USB cabl e are for use with this unit only .
VQT4U81 11 1 Connect t he USB cable to the A C adaptor . ≥ Check that the plug portion of the AC adaptor is not misaligned. 2 Connect t he AC adap tor into the AC outlet. 3 Connect t he USB cabl e to the unit. ≥ Connecti ng the USB cable in the wr ong dir ection may cause damage to the USB/ A V connector of the unit.

VQT4U81 13 The unit can re c ord motion pic tures, s till pictur es or audio to an SD card or built-in memor y . T o record to an SD card, read t he following. Cards that you can use w ith this unit Use SD cards conforming to Class 4 or higher of the SD Speed Class Rating f or motion picture r ecording.
14 VQT4U81 2 Insert (remove ) the SD card into (from) the card slot. ≥ Face the labe l side B in the dire c tion shown in the illust ration and press it straight in as far as it will go. ≥ Press the c entre of th e SD card and t hen pull it straigh t out.
VQT4U81 15 Open the LCD monitor and p ress the pow er button to turn on the un it. The LCD monitor turns on. If the scree n to se t the date a nd tim e app ears when yo u tur n on the un it, skip to st ep 2 and follow the s teps t o set the date a nd time.
16 VQT4U81 3 (When [DA TE] or [TIME] is selected) Tilt the SET button to the lef t or right to select th e desired item and then up and dow n to set the numerical v a lues. e.g.: When [DA TE] is sel ected ≥ The year can be se t between 2 000 and 2039.
VQT4U81 17 ≥ Before turning on the unit, remove the lens cap. ≥ Motion pic tures are recorded to the SD card if one is inserted . If no SD card is inserted , the motion pictures ar e recorded to the built-in memory . 1 Open the L CD monitor . 2 Press the REC/ button to cha nge to recording mode.
18 VQT4U81 ≥ Before turning on the unit, remove the lens cap. ≥ S till pictures are recorded to SD card if one is inserted. If no SD card is inserte d, the still pictu res are recorded to the buil t-in memory . 1 Open the L CD monitor . 2 Press the REC/ button to cha nge to recording mode.

If no SD card is inserte d, the audio is record ed to the built-in memory . 1 Open the L CD monitor . 2 Press the REC / bu tton to change to recordin g mode. 3 Select the m e nu.
