- 10 - ∫ About batteries that you can use with this unit The battery that can be used with this unit is CGA-D54 s. Prepar atio n Power supply It has been found that counterfeit battery packs which lo ok very similar to the genuine product are made available to purchase in some market s.
- 1 1 - Charging the battery Important: ≥ Do not us e the AC cable with any other equipment as it is designed onl y for this unit. Also, do not use the AC cable from other equipment with thi s unit. ≥ It is reco mmended to charge the ba ttery in a temperatur e between 10 o C and 30 o C.
- 12 - Inserting/removing the battery Inst all the batte ry by inserting it in the direction show n in the figure. Removing the battery Make s ure t hat the power sw itch is s et to OFF and the s tatus indica tor is turned of f, and then remov e by holding onto it t aking care not to drop.

- 14 - Connecting to the AC outlet The unit is in the st andby condit ion when th e AC adaptor is connected. The primary circuit is always “live” as long as the AC adaptor is conne cted to an electrical outlet. Important: ≥ Us e the supplied AC adaptor .
- 15 - The unit can record motion pict ures or still pictures to an SD card. Cards that you can use w ith th is unit Use SD cards confor ming to Class 4 or higher of the SD S peed Class Rating* for motion pi cture record ing. * SD Sp eed Class Rating is the speed standar d regardin g continuou s writing.
- 16 - Inserting/removing an SD c ard Caution: Check tha t the acce ss lamp has gone off . 1 Open the SD card slot cover and i nser t (rem ove) the S D card into (from ) the card slot B . ≥ One SD card can be inserte d into each of the card slot 1 and the card slot 2.
- 17 - Set the po wer switch to ON while pr essing the loc k release butto n B to turn on the un it. A The status indicator light s on. ≥ T o turn on the uni t again after the [ECONOMY (BA TT)] or [ECONOMY (AC)] is activate d, set the p ower switch to OFF once, an d then to ON again.
- 18 - The viewfind er is turned off and the LCD monitor is turned on when the LCD monitor is extract ed. The viewfinder is turned on when the LCD monitor is retracted. It is pos sible to chec k the images recorded during 3D r ecording or sc enes recorded i n 3D as 3D when LCD monito r is used.
- 19 - How to use the touch scr een Y ou can operate by directly touchin g the LC D monitor (touch scr een) with your finge r. It is easier to use the sty lus pen (supplied) for det ailed operati on or if it is hard to operate with your f ingers. ∫ T ouch T ouch an d release the touch scree n to select icon or picture.
- 20 - LCD monitor adjustment ≥ These settings will not affect the images actually record ed. This makes it easie r to view the LCD monitor in bright places including ou tdoors. Sele ct the menu. ( l 23) ≥ It cannot be set while 3D is display ed. ≥ When the AC adaptor is in use, [PO WER LCD] is set to [ON] auto matically .
- 21 - Vie wfinder adjustment ≥ These settings will not affect the images actually record ed. It adjust s the fiel d of view to show the image on the viewfind er clearly . 1 Adjust the vi ewfinder to suit your vision so that you can see the display images clearly .
- 22 - When th e unit is t urned on for the fi rst time, a mess age asking you to s et the date and ti me will appear . Select [YES] and perform s teps 2 to 3 bel ow to set the date and ti me. 1 Select the menu . ( l 23 ) 2 T ouch the date or tim e to be set, then set the desired value using / .

Position of the conver gence point wil l be set further whe n the n umber is larger . ≥ The subject at the position of the conver gence point will not shoot out or recess from the screen .
- 34 - ∫ 3D guide dis play The 3D gu ide display is a guideline of di stance between the subj ect and thi s unit to ef fectivel y reproduc e the subject as a 3D image . ≥ The values of the 3D guide display will chang e according to the zoom mag nification and conver gence point s ettings.
- 35 - T o record in such a way that 3D image of the subject can be effectively repro duced We reco mmend that you record with the s ubject position ed within the range of the 3D guide display .
- 36 - ∫ 3D Fine The po sition, foc us, and iris of the left a nd right len ses can b e finely a djusted. ≥ S et [ 3D/2D REC MODE] to [3D]. ( l 29) ≥ Conn ect this unit to the 3D co mpa tible television u sing a HDMI cable (optional). ( l 81) 1 Select the menu .

- 40 - ∫ Intelligent Aut o Mode When switching to Int elligent Auto Mode, the Auto White Ba lance and Auto Focus operate and automat ically adjust t he colour balan ce and focusing. Dependi ng on the brightness of the s ubject etc., the aperture and shut ter speed are automati cally adjusted f or an optimum brightne ss.
- 41 - It can b e zoomed up to 10 k for t he 3D Recording Mode, and up to 12 k for the 2D Record ing Mode. ≥ It can zoom up to 23 k when the [i. Zoom] is set to [ON] du ring the 2D Recording Mode. ( l 1 12) ≥ Zoom magnification c an be checked in the screen display of Z00 to Z99.
- 42 - ∫ About the zoo m speed ≥ The zoom speed will vary depend ing on how far the zoom leve r is pressed or how fast th e zoom ring is rotate d. ≥ Zoom speed of the sub zoom lever will vary depending on the setting of [SUB ZOOM] . ( l 120) ≥ The zoom speed does not vary when operating with th e wireless remote contro l.
- 43 - Use the image st abilizer to reduce th e effect s of shake during reco rding. This unit is equip ped with Optical Image S tabilizer in the 3D Recordi ng Mode. This unit is equip ped with Hybrid Optical Image S tabilizer in the 2D Recording Mod e.
- 44 - Perform fo cus adjustment s using the focus ring. If auto foc using is diffi cult due to the conditi ons, then use Manual Focus. ≥ S witch to Manual Mode. ( l 39) 1 Press the FOCUS A/M/ ¶ button to switch to Ma nual Focus. ≥ It will swit ch to MF from AF.
