For each step, be sure to refer to the pages indicated in brack ets. 1 Insert the batteries. Preparation 12 VQT0V1 0 About the Batteries ∫ Usable batteries • One of the follo wing messages appears when you insert batteries for the first time, change the batteries when they be come exhausted etc.

Basic 25 VQT0V 10 We recommend taking pictures using AF/ AE lock. • Ev en when the focus indication appears and the subject is focused, it is canceled if you release the shutter b utton. Advanced 47 VQT0V 10 T aking Close-up Pictures This mode allows you to take close-up pictures of a subject, e.g. when taking pictures of flowers. Y ou can take pictures of a subject as close as 5 cm (0.16 f eet) from the lens by rotating t he zoom le ver upmost to Wide (1 k ).
Advanced 48 VQT0V1 0 Scene Mode When you select a scene mode to match the subject and recording situation, t he camera sets the optimal e xposure and hue to obtain the desired pict ure. T wo frequently used scenes can be set to the mode dials [ ] and [ ] .
