Operating Instruction s 13 The Banner When the camera accesses th e Internet, the banner di splays product inf or mation about cameras or anno uncements about the latest firm ware , etc. from P anasonic. Whether or not to display the banner can be set at Banner Displa y (see pa ge 55 ).
Operating Inst ructions 14 1.2.1 Ima ge A uto Center ing (Clic k to Center) When you click a certain point on th e camera image, the point is centered on the image. 1. Mo ve t he cursor to the de sired po int. 2. Click it. • The click ed point is centered.

Operating Inst ructions 16 1.2.3 Using Operation Bar Note When the camera image is not display ed correctly , click [Refresh] at the tool bar on the web browser . The image will be refreshed. End Display and Preset Display: When the pan/tilt has reached the end (Left End, Right End, Up End and Down End), End Displa y appears.

Operating Instruction s 19 Registering a Preset Button 8 preset buttons can be regi stered. Preset b uttons (1—4 ) are registered 1: Upper Left, 2: Upper Right, 3: Lower Left and 4: Lo wer Right. These buttons can be changed (see page 21 ). • Registered buttons are shown in b lue.

Operating Instruction s 31 2.2 Connecting the Camera to Y our Netw ork The Network page offers three opt ions to configure the came ra. • [A utomatic Setup] automatic ally as signs an unused IP address to the came ra, and uses UPnP TM to configure your router .

Operating Inst ructions 34 • IP address • Subnet Mask (Static Only) • If your ISP or netw ork admin istrator sp ecifies the IP address and subnet mask, enter them in each data field. • If you use the camera on the LAN, set the IP address in the same subnet mask as your PC (see page 103 ).
Operating Instruction s 35 Max. Bandwidth Usage • The bandwidth can be restricted. • Select the maximum bandwidth usage from [Unlimited] to [0.1 Mbps]. Note Set the maximum bandwidth usage seeing the following file sizes. These are e xamples for a JPEG file with a standard image quality .
Operating Inst ructions 36 2.3 Using Wireless LAN Wireless communication is possible b y adjusting the settings of the wireless LAN to those for the wireless router . Operating Inst ructions 38 Notes • Some wireless devices do not support the WEP 152 bi t. • The camera suppor ts only the open system authentication. If the wi reless router or access point is set to shared key authentication, set it to auto or open system.

Operating Inst ructions 40 2.4 Using UPnP™ (Universal Plug and Pla y) UPnP TM can automatically configure your rout er to be accessed from the Inter net. In order to use this feature, y our router need s to suppor t this feature and it must be enabled.
Operating Instruction s 41 2.5 Registering with the Vie wnetcam.com service Viewnetcam.com is a free ser vice (dynamic DNS serv ice) that allows you to assign an easy-to-remember name to the camera, similar to your f av orite website. Viewnetcam.com also allows you to easily access the camer a, e ven when y ou r ISP changes the IP address.

If the URL is not display ed, f ollow the procedures below . • P ersonal (Camera) URL is av ailable after y ou registered with the Viewnetcam.
Operating Instruction s 43 2.6 Setting Date and Time The Date and Time page allows you to set date and time. Date and time are used f or image buff er/transf er , operation ti me and time stamps on the buff ered image. Note Saving the date and time settings deletes all buff ere d images.

Operating Instruction s 45 2.7 Changing Camera Settings The Camera page allows y ou to set the camera name, white balance, A C power source frequency and pan/tilt range. 1. Click [Camera] on the Setup page. 2. Set each parameter . • Clicking [Cancel] cancels your settings without sa vi ng chan ges.

Operating Instruction s 49 2.8 Changing A uthentication Setting and Administrator User Name and P assw ord The Security: Administrator page allows y ou to change authentication, administrator user name and passw ord. Th e authentication window is displayed, and allows the registered users to access the came ra.
Operating Inst ructions 50 Notes • When setting authenticatio n, set the user na me and password, and sav e them. • When users other than an administ rator are accessing the camera, [Setup] and [Maintenance] tab will not be displayed. • The user name and pass w ord are case sensitive.

Operating Inst ructions 52 2.9 Loggi ng in to the Camera If you set [P er mit access from guest users] on the Secur ity: Administrator page, [Login] is display ed at the top of the page. After y ou log in as an administrator , you can access the Setup page and the Maintenan ce page.

Operating Instruction s 59 Notes • If your camera will only be accessed on your local network, use each camera's local IP address and por t number . • If you intend to access your camera from the Inter net, you must use each cameras’ global IP address and respective por t number .

Operating Inst ructions 78 2.15 Specifying Operation Time The Operation Time page allows you to limit the operation time. The camera image tur ns to a gray screen outside the operation time. Notes • If you wrongly set the time per iod, your privacy ma y be seen.

Operating Instruction s 81 2.17 Enabling Priv acy Mode Pressing the privacy button turns the camera into pri vacy mode. Y ou can keep your privacy in privacy mode . In this case, the camera oper ation stops, and the image transf er by timer or sensor (see page 60 or page 68 ) is also stopped.

Operating Inst ructions 84 3.1.3 Restarting the Camera The camera restar ts by disconnecting the pl ug of the AC cord from the outlet and reconnecting it again. The camera can also be restar ted on the Restar t page. Note When the camera restar ts, the b uff ered images will be deleted.
Operating Instruction s 85 3.1.4 U pdating the Camera Firmw are The Update Fir mware page allows y ou to update the camera fir mware. If the ne w fir mware is av ailable, install it into the camera. Notes • Do not turn off the power during fir mware update.
Operating Inst ructions 86 • The Update page is displayed in about 90 seconds . 4. Click [Bro wse...]. • A dialog box is display ed to select the fir mware . 5. Select the firm ware (including director y information) and click [Open]. • The firm ware file name is display ed.

Operating Instruction s 89 3.1.6 Loading Settings fr om a Configuration File The settings can b e loaded from a configuration file. If you reset the camera to f actor y default, the camera can load its settings from the configuration file. Notes • The configuration file has network settings.
Operating Inst ructions 90 3.1.7 Resetting the Camera to Factory Default All camera settings are reset to f actor y de f aul t directly after the Execute b utton is click ed. T o restore the wireless connection , access the camera by using the wired connection and set up the wireless configuration.
