5 Bef ore use p w Overview This unit is a 1 ME digital video s witcher which suppor ts a multiple number of HD and SD f or mats. Despite its compact size , it comes with eight SDI inputs, one D VI-D input, five SDI outputs and one D VI-D output.
6 Bef ore use p w Concerning differences in the system ver sions This manual describes the functions which can be actuated in any model whose system v ersion is V2.00.00 and up . The applicable functions are ref erred to as “This function can be actuated in any model whose system version is V2.
7 1. Basic operations 1-1. Bac kground transition 1-1-1. Selecting the bus Press one of the crosspoint buttons to select the material to be used f or the backg round transition. Depending on the operating status, the b utton pressed will light in one of two colors.
8 1. Basic operations Single SHIFT Single SHIFT is used to s witch the individual material of a PGM/A bus crosspoint b utton, PST/B bus crosspoint button or A UX bus crosspoint b utton from a front material to a rear material or vice versa.
9 1. Basic operations 1-1-5. Manual transition Operate the f ader lev er to ex ecute transitions manually . If the f ader le ver has been oper ated during auto transition, auto transition will be s witched to manual operation as soon as the f ader position ov er takes the amount of the transition being e x ecuted.
10 1. Basic operations 1-2. Wipe 1-2-1. Selecting the wipe pattern The wipe patterns are selected using the number keys . 1 Press the [BKGD P A TT] button (or [KEY P A TT] b utton). The [BKGD P A TT] button (or [KEY P A TT] b utton) indicator lights in amber , and the patter n table screen appears on the built-in displa y .
11 1. Basic operations 1-2-2. Selecting the wipe direction Operate the wipe direction selector b uttons to select the wipe direction f or the backg round transition. (The ke y transitions are set by the menu. The direction which is set here will not be reflected.
12 1. Basic operations 1-2-4. Setting the wipe star t position Wipe star t can be set at any desired position. T arget patterns: WIPE1: 5 WIPE2: 4, 5, 6, 7 SQ1: 5 SQ2: 4, 5, 6, 7 The WIPE patter n is set using the WIPE Position sub men u of the Backg round menu (or K ey menu).
13 1. Basic operations Setting the trimming The trimming at the time a background transition is e xecuted can be set. T arget patterns: SQ1, SQ2, SL, 3D1, 3D2 The “4:3” and “4:3Smth” settings for the T r im item take eff ect when the HD f ormat has been selected as the system format setting.

Setting the latency A dela y amount can be set f or the background image or k ey image. 1 Press the s button to light its indicator , and displa y the Config menu. 2 Use [F1] to display the Latency sub men u. 3 Use [F2] to set the delay amount f or the background image using the BKGD item.
15 1. Basic operations 1-3. K ey This operation combines the bac kground image with another image. The key definition can be adjusted, and an edge can be added to the combined image. Also av ailable as materials besides KEY for combining with the backg round image are PinP (picture in picture) and DSK (downstream k ey).
16 1. Basic operations 4 When the luminance ke y has been selected, the chroma component can be included in the generation of the k ey signals in view of the self k ey application. (This does not apply to the linear ke y .) Use [F3], and select the setting using the Lum K ey item.
17 1. Basic operations Setting the fill matte color 1 Press the k button to light its indicator , and displa y the K ey menu. 2 Use [F1] to display the Fill Matte sub men u. 3 Use [F2], [F3] and [F4] to adjust the Hue, Sat and Lum of the fill matte.
18 1. Basic operations 4 Set the wipe direction. On the K ey menu, use [F1] to displa y the T ransition sub menu. Use [F1] to set “Normal” or “Rev erse” using the K ey out Pattern item. Normal The ke y out patter n mov es in the same direction as the ke y in patter n.
19 1. Basic operations 1-3-4. Key pre view K ey pre view images can be output to the pre view output, and the ke ys can be adjusted and checked. 1 On the K ey menu, use [F1] to displa y the K ey sub menu. 2 Use [F5] to set the previe w mode using the PVW item.
20 1. Basic operations 1-3-6. Adjusting the chroma ke y Sampling is e x ecuted for the selected k ey materials to adjust those aspects of the ke y that are to be compensated. Step 1 w T o execute the sampling automaticall y 1 Press the k button to light its indicator , and displa y the Chroma K ey menu.
21 1. Basic operations Step 2 The objective of this step is to remo ve the noise in the backg round image. The noise is remov ed by carr ying out this step se veral times . 1 On the Chroma K ey menu, use [F1] to displa y the Sample sub menu. 2 Use [F2] to select “Matte” (Matte image) using the View item.
22 1. Basic operations Step 4 After steps 1 to 3 hav e been carr ied out, noise will still remain in the detail areas such as the subject’ s hair as shown in the image below . Noise remaining in the detail areas is also remov ed in “step 4”. If there are many areas with noise , the noise is remov ed by carr ying out this step se veral times .
23 1. Basic operations [Spill–] [Spill+] In these modes, the noise in the f oreground image can be remov ed or restored step by step through repeated sampling.
24 1. Basic operations [Detail–] [Detail+] In these modes, the noise in the bac kground image can be removed step b y step. This is a useful wa y of adjusting images lost by other sampling operations to adjust the te xture or transparency of images.
25 1. Basic operations [FineT uning] In this mode, detailed images can be adjusted. 1 On the Chroma K ey menu, use [F1] to displa y the Sample sub menu. 2 Use [F2] to select “Composite” using the View item. 3 Use [F3] to select “FineT uning” using the Mode item.

PinP adjustments Adjusting the PinP position and size While the PinP menu is selected, adjust the X and Y coordinates using the positioner in the positioner area, and adjust the size using the rotary encoder [Z]. Alter natively , the settings can be perf ormed on the menus.
32 1. Basic operations 1-4-7. Linking PinP1 and PinP2 The PinP1 and PinP2 images perf orm a symmetr ical operation f or the axis whose coordinates and rotation angle hav e been set. The image ser ving as the ref erence is the PinP image of the menu being operated.

76 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-1. Setting the frame synchronizer The frame synchronizer can be set to On or Off f or each input. The D VI input frame synchronizer is permanently On. It cannot be set from On to Off or vice versa. 1 On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.
77 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-2. Setting the input mode The mode can be set f or each input only when HD has been selected as the system f or mat. When SD is selected as the system f ormat, the input mode is always the same as Normal. 1 On the FS sub menu, use [F3] to set the input mode using the Mode item.

86 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-11. Displaying the D VI input signal information These are used to displa y the inf or mation concerning the D VI-D input signal images. The inf ormation cannot be changed. 1 On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.
87 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-12. Adjusting the DVI input signals These are used to adjust the clock/phase and position of the D VI-D input signal. Select the clock/phase and position of the signals when the D VI input board (A V -HS04M3) has been connected.
88 2. Input/output signal settings 2-2. Output signal settings SDI OUT1 to SDI OUT5 are SDI signal outputs. D VI OUT is D VI-D signal output. OUT A1, OUT A2, OUT B1 and OUT B2 can be set only when one of the f ollowing option boards has been connected.
