10 EN Preparing the Camer a Insert the battery by putting in the ▼ marked side fi rst, with the B (FE-4040)/ C (FE-4020/X-940) mark toward the battery lock knob. Damage to the battery exterior (scratches, etc.) may produce heat or an explosion. Insert the battery while sliding the battery lock knob in the direction of the arrow .
11 EN The battery is not fully charged at the time of purchase. Before use, be sure to charge the battery until the indicator lamp turns off (up to 3 hours). If the indicator lamp does not light, the camera is not correctly connected or the battery , camera, or AC adapter may be damaged.

46 EN Appendix Batter y and AC adapter (included) This camera uses one Olympus lithium ion battery (LI-70B). No other type of batteries can be used. Caution: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with the incorrect battery type. Dispose of the used battery following the instructions.
47 EN Using a separately sold AC adapter A D-7AC AC adapter (sold separately) is useful for time-consuming tasks such as downloading images to a computer or when running a slideshow for a long period of time. A CB-MA1/ CB-MA3 multi-adapter (sold separately) is required when using a D-7AC AC adapter with this camera.

Pay attention to the following: When used for a long period, the camera will get hot. If you hold on to the camera in this state, a low-temperature burn may be caused.
