H/W SETUP 12) W ake-On-LAN Connector ( 3 -pin WOL_CON) This connector connects to a LAN card with a W ake-On-LAN output, such as the ASUS PCI-L101 Ethernet card (see 7. Appendix ). The connector powers up the system when a wakeup packet or signal is received through the LAN card.

BIOS SETUP Chip Configuration SDRAM Configuration [By SPD] This sets the optimal timings for items 2 – 5, depending on the memory mod- ules that you are using. Default setting is [By SPD], which configures items 2 – 5 by reading the contents in the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) device.

BIOS SETUP Read Around Write [Enabled] W ith the Read Around W rite (RA W) feature, after the CPU issues a write command, the memory controller stores the write data in its buf fer so that next time the CPU needs the data, it can provide them without accessing the SDRAM.

BIOS SETUP Boot Menu Boot Sequence The Boot menu allows you to select among the four possible types of boot devices listed using the up and down arrow keys. By using the <+> or <Space> key , you can promote devices and by using the <-> key , you can demote devices.
