7 i2002 Inter net Teleph one i2002 Internet T elephone This document describes i2002 features a nd how to use the i2002 Internet T elephone. The i2002 Internet T elephone brings voice and data to the desktop by connectin g directly to a LAN through an Ethernet connection.
8 Your i2002 Internet Te lephone’s controls Y our i2002 Internet T elephone’ s controls Use the Vo l u m e C o n t r o l to ad just the volume of the Handset, Headset, Speaker , Ringer , and Handsfree features. Press the right side of the rocker bar to increa se volume, the left side to decrease vo lume.
9 Your i2002 Internet Telephone’s controls Press the Hold key to put an active call on hold. Press the Line (DN ) key beside the flashing t o return to the cal ler on hold . Press the Speaker key to activate handsfree. The speaker LED lights to indicate when handsfree is active.

12 Install your i2002 Internet Telephone Install your i2002 Internet T elephone Connect the i2002 telephone components 1. Connect one end of the handset cord to the handset jack (identified with a h andset icon) on the back of the telephone and the other end to the jack on the handset.

After sel ecting Display Diagnostics from the T elephone Option menu: 1. Using the Navigation keys, scroll through the list to view di splay capabilities.

23 Call featur es Call features System administration is requir ed for Call fe atures. Contact your system administrator to configur e these fe atur es and codes on your telephone. The Call features and Flexible Feature Codes (FFC) described in the following sections must be assigned to your telephone and suppo rted by sy stem software.
24 Make a call Make a call This section describes featur es associated with making a call. There are several ways to make a call from an i2002 telephone. T o make a call: 1. Do one of the following : a. Press the Line (DN) key . b. Lift the Handset . c.
25 Make a call Use Handsfree calling Use Handsfree calling to operate a built-in mi crophone and speaker instead of the handset. While on an active call, you can switch between Handset and Handsfree mode. T o answer a call in Handsfree mode: Press the Handsfr ee key .
26 Make a call T o use a Headset: 1. Connect the Headset to the headset jack or the handset jack depending on the headset type and telephone. 2. Press the Headset key . Note: Amplified an d unamplified headsets are compatible with the i2002 Internet T elephone.
27 Make a call T o search for a specific num ber: 1. When prompted, use the keypad to enter the desired name in the format, “Last, First”. 2. T o edit the entry , select from the following : a. T o toggle letters, use the 1-9 number keys. b. For upper case letters, use the second level of feature keys and press the Case key .
28 Make a call T o scroll to a specific number: 1. Using the Nav igation keys, scroll through the names in the Corporate Directory . 2. Press the Dial key to dial the resulting number . Use Predial Use the Predial feature to enter , preview , an d edit numbers before diali ng.
29 Make a call Use Auto Dial Use the Auto Dial feature to display , stor e, and automatically dial telephone numbers. To u s e A u t o D i a l : 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2. Selecting an associated Auto Dial key from the uppe r display a rea, press to dial the number .
30 Make a call Activate Ring Again Use the Ring A gain feature if a busy tone sounds or when ther e is no answer after placing a call. Ring Again activates an audible tone noti fication that you receive when the person you tried calling i s available or h as used their tel ephone.
31 Make a call Redial last number called Use the Last Number Redial feature to automatically redi al the last dialed number . T o use Last Number Redial: Choose one of th e following 1. T o redial using the Handset : a. Lift the Handset . b. Press the Line (DN) key .
32 Make a call T o make a Speed Call: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Press the Speed Call Controller key . 3. Dial the Speed Call code to automatically dial th e number . Make a System Speed Call Use the System Speed Call feature to di al Speed Call codes that override all restrictions on a call.
33 Make a call Make an Intercom call Use the Intercom feature to call a member of your int ercom group by pressi ng the code assigned to each member . To m a k e a n I n t e r c o m c a l l : 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2. Press the Intercom key . 3. Dial the one- or two-digit code for the desired intercom group member .
34 Answ er a call Answer a call Each incoming call causes the telephone to ring and th e LCD indicator to flash. T o answer a call: or 1. Choose one of the following : a. Lift the Handset . or b. Press the Handfree button located on the left side of the handset.
35 While on an active call While on an active call This section describes features available during an active call. Place a call on hold Use the Hold feature when talking on one line and another call arrives on a second line. Retain the original call by pu tting it on hold and then answer the second call.
36 While on an active call T o go back to the original call, if the transfer is incomplete: If the person called is not available, press the Line (DN) key (next to the LCD indicator) to reconnect to the original call. Use Timed Reminder Recall Use the T imed Reminder Recall feature to receive a reminder tone when a transferred call is not answered.
37 While on an active call Use Attendant Recall Use the Attendant Recall feature to contact an attendan t during a call an d to connect the call to the attendant. T o contact the attendant while on a call: 1. Press the Attendant Reca ll key an d stay on the line until the attendant answers.
38 While on an active call T o park a call using the SPRE code or FFC: or 1. Press the Tr a n s f e r key or the Confer ence key . 2. Dial the Call Park FFC . 3. T o use an alternate DN from the System Park DN or your own DN, dial the DN where you want to park the call.
39 While on an active call Record a Calling Par ty Number Use the Calling Party Number f eature to record a caller ’ s number or char ge a call to an account number for accounting purp oses during an established call. T o record a caller’ s number for accounting p urposes: 1.
40 While on an active call T race a Malicious call Use the Malicious Call T race feature to tr ace nuisance calls within your system. T o use Call T race while on a call: Press the Call T race key . T o use Call T r ace without a Call T r ace key: or 1.
41 Incoming calls Incoming calls This section describes features th at are used with incoming calls. Activate Automatic Answerback When the Automatic Answerback feature is active, your se t automatically answers in handsfree mode after one ring; however , calls are not fo rwarded to the v oice message service.
42 Incoming calls 3. Dial the pickup group nu mber of the ringing telephone. T o answer a call at a specific extension in any pickup group: 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2. Press the DN Pickup key , or enter the Pickup Directory Number FFC. 3. Dial the DN of the telephone that is ringing (in your call pick up group).
43 Incoming calls 2. Press the Line (DN) key associated with the first call. If you do not have a Call W aiting key: 1. Press the Goodbye key to end the current call and answ er the incoming call. 2. Press the Line (DN) key beside the flashing status icon to answer the incoming call.
44 While you are away from your desk While you are away from your desk This section describes features that ar e used when you are away from your desk. Use Call For ward Use the Call Forward featur e to direct incoming ca lls to ring at anoth er Line (DN).
45 While yo u are away from your desk Use Internal Call For ward Use the Internal Call Forward to accept only calls originating at in te rnal DNs to ring at another DN. Calls originating outsi de your telephone system still ring at you r telephone. Current i ncoming calls cannot be forwarded.
46 While you are away from your desk 4. Dial your Station Control Password. A dial tone soun ds. 5. Choose one of the following : a. Dial your DN. b. T o forward calls to the previous call forward telephone numb er , press the # key . (Do not perfo rm steps 6 and 7).
47 While yo u are away from your desk Secure your telephone Use the Electronic Lock feature to prevent others from mak ing calls from your telephone. The lock consists of a password that you can change. T o lock your telephone: 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2.
48 While you are away from your desk T o change your password (must be done from your telephone): 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2. Dial the Station Cont rol Password Change FFC . 3. Dial the current password for your telephone. 4. Dial the new password. 5. Dial the new password again.
49 Talk with more than one perso n T alk with more than one person This section describes featur es that enable conversatio ns between more than two people. Use the Call Join feature Use the Call Join feature to connect a call to a current active call.
50 Talk with more than one pers on If the person you attempt to add to the conference is unavailable: 1. Press the Goodbye key . 2. Press the Line (DN) key with the flashing icon to ret urn to your origin al call .
51 Talk with more than one perso n The LCD indi cator turns off. b. For multiple conferees, repeat steps 1 and 2 until all conferees are disconnected. Then press the Goodbye key . Use Group Call Use the Group Call feature to automatically call memb ers of a predefined group, one at a time, until they all answer .
52 Talk with more than one pers on b. If you are on a call on another line on your telephone when a gro up call is made, you receive a long tone through the handset o r speaker . c. If you are alrea dy on a conference call or another group call, you do not receive notifi cation of a group call.
53 Work without interrup tion W ork without interr uption This section describes features th at provide uninterrupted work time. Activate Make Set Busy Use the Make Set Busy feature to make your telephone appear bu sy to all callers.
54 Additional call features Additional call features Auto Dial T ransfer feature Use the Auto Dial T ransfer feature to transmit digits throu gh your Auto Dial key to the central office after a T runk Switchhook Flash. Y ou must be on a Central Office/Exchange (CO) trunk cal l from or to a CO that of fers Centrex or exchange line-type features.
55 Addition al call features Use Call Page Connect to make an announcement Use the Call Page Connect feature to make an announcem ent over a paging system. Note: A Page key on an attendant console overrid es and disconnects the telephones. The telephones must re-access the page trunk.
56 Additional call features Charge a call or Charge a Forced call Use the Call Char ge feature to char ge a call to a specific account. The Forced Charge feature charges long-distance calls from a telephone restricted to local call s. T o charge a local or long-distance call to an accou nt before you dial: 1.
57 Addition al call features T o charge a call to an account when you transfer a call: 1. Press the T ransfer key . The call is on hold. 2. Press the Charge key or dial the Call Detail Recording FFC . 3. Dial the charge account number . 4. After the dial tone, dial the number to where the call is to be transferred.
58 Additional call features Use Enhanced Override feature Use the Enhanced Override feature to override an active call after you have attempted a Forced Camp-on. Use Enhanced Override to make a simple call or a consultation call, such as placing a call on hold and calling another party .
59 Addition al call features Note: The person you called receives a tone, and you receive a ring/ringback signal or a busy/engaged signal, depending on the op tions chosen. Y ou are now camped -on to the num ber you dialed. 2. When the person you called finishes their call, your telephone aut omatically dials the number.
60 Additional call features Use Privacy Release Use the Privacy Release feature to enable one or more people who share your DN to join a call. T o use Privacy Goodbye in an established state: Press the Privacy Release key during a call.
61 Addition al call features T o use Automatic Post selection: The called party is either busy on the telephone or away from the desk. T o page the called party , there is no need to redial the number of the called party . 1. Press the Radio Pa ge key .
62 Additional call features Use V oice Call Use the V oice Call feature to page an other person or make an announcement through someone else’ s telephone speaker . T o make a voice call: 1. Lift the Ha ndset . 2. Press the V oice Call key and mak e the announcement.
63 Additional features Additional features Vir tual Of fice When you are away from y our of fice telephone, us e the V irtual Office feature to transfer calls and all of it’ s features to a remote telephone.

65 Additional features When activated for V irtual Office by a remote telephone, yo ur office telephone is logged out and no longer operati onal. A Logged Out message displays on your telephone alerting you that it is being used for V irtual Office.
