25 Your WLAN Handset 6120 and 6140 Modes of operation The WLAN Handset 6120 and 6140 have six modes of operation (see T able 1). The do wnload icon indicates that the handset is do wnloading code. This icon only appears while the handset is run ning the ov er-the-air do wnloader .

29 Cleaning your handset Cleaning y our handset The WLAN Handset 6120 and 6140 occasionally need to be cleaned to main tain appearance. In general, wiping the handset surface with a plain-w ater-dampened cloth or paper towel remo ves most films or residues.
30 Care of your handset degrades legibility . If the headset connector is dirty , you can e xperience a scratchy or interm ittent signal. T o clean the connector , dip th e padded end of a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol. Gently insert in the connector and twi s t, repeating sev eral t imes.

69 Making calls Making calls This section describes the features ass o ciated with making a call. Use A utodial The Autodial feature displays, stores, and auto matically enters telephone numbers. T o use Autodial: 1. While the hand set is in standby m ode, press the S tart butt on.
70 Making ca lls The selected line number flashes in the upper display area. Activate Ring Again Use the Ring Again (RingA) feature if a busy tone sounds or when there is no answer after placing a call. RingA causes the ring again indicator to flash, indicating that the person you tried to call is av ailable.
71 Making calls 5. Press the Dial soft key . Use Speed Call By entering a two-digit code (01–99), use the Speed Call(Spdc) feature to store, edit, and automatically enter frequently -called telephone numbers. T o s t or e a S peed Call (Spdc) numb er: 1.

73 Making calls Use Conference Hotline Use the Conference Hotline feature to auto matically enter a specific number . Y ou can program other features such as Call Re direction to the Conference Hotline. Call Redirection redirects a Confer ence Hotline call so that it is answered only by one person.

75 While on an active call While on an active call This section describes the features th at are av ailable during an acti ve call. Place a call on hold Use the Hold feature when talking on one line and another call arriv es on a second line. Retain the origin al call by placing it on hold and then answer the se cond call.
76 While on an active call Use Attendant Recall Use the Attendant Recall feature to contact an attendan t during a call and to connect the call to the attendant. T o contact the attendant while on a call: 1. Press the Line b utton to access the Feature Keys menu.
77 While on an active call Use Call P ark Use the Call P ark feature to hol d temporarily (park) and retrie ve a call from any telephone or handset. Using Call Park does not tie up a line and, when configured network-wide, you can use it across networks.

Displa y incoming calls Use the Display feature to display a seco nd incoming caller’ s number and name (if a vailable) during an activ e call, witho ut interfering with the call in progress.
79 Incoming calls Incoming calls This section describes the features that ar e av ailable to you when a call is incoming. Activa te Call Pic kup Use the Call Pick up feature to pick up calls from any telephone o r handset in the same pickup group or in another pickup group.
80 Incoming calls 4. Enter the DN of th e handset that is ringing (in your call pick up group). If the pickup DN or group number is invalid, press th e End button. Use Call W aiting The Call W aiting feature alerts you to an in coming call by prod ucing a tone.

84 While away from your desk Use Internal Call Forwar d Use Internal Call Forward to accept only calls that originate at internal DNs to ring at another DN. Calls th at originate outsid e y our telephone system still rin g at your handset. Current incomin g calls cannot be forwarded.
85 Talk with more than one perso n T alk with more than one per son This section describes the features that you can use to hold con versations among more than two people. Use Call Join Use the Call Join feature to connect calls to the curren t activ e call.
