30 Shooti n g Fea t ure s Shooting Features When you frame a pictu re, the camera automa tically selects the op timum scene from the list below, allowing you to ea sily take images using a shooting mode that suits th e scen e. • When digital zoom is in effect, G is selected as the shoo ting sc ene.
31 Shooti n g Fea t ure s A (auto ) mode is us eful for genera l photo graphy, and it al lows you to adjust a variety of settings in the shooting menu ( A 53) to suit the shooting conditions and the type of shot you want to capture. • If the camera de tects a human face, the came ra automatically focuses on it.
32 Shooti n g Fea t ure s You can take images with the o ptimal camera settings for the subject type by selecting the shooting s cene from the list below. 41 Shooti n g Fea t ure s At the default setting, the camera dete cts fa ces and automat icall y releas es the shutter when it detects a s mile (smile timer ). You can also use the skin softening option to smooth the skin tones in human faces. See “Skin Softening” ( A 54) fo r more information.
