1 Introduction Congratulations on purchasing your Nextar GPS Navigator . Y our mobile navigation system assures that your day s of getting lost are over! Finding an address or any of millions of different point s of interest such as the nearest gas station or restaurant is a snap anywhere across the U.
2 Import ant Safety Information • When in a car , do not mount your GPS on or near an air bag. If the air bag is deployed, you may be seriously injured. • Only use a power cord and live traf fic receiver provided by NEXT AR. Use of products provided by other suppliers may void the warranty .
3 Import ant Safety Information Importa nt: Some states hav e restrictions on locating your GPS unit on the windshield. Included w ith your Next ar unit is an adhesive backed Dashboard Mount Disk that can b e used if attaching the mounting brac ket to the w indshield is inconvenient or not allowed.

8 Power Adaptor Using the Pow er A daptor The GPS unit is supplied with a DC Power A daptor for charging the internal battery and for powering the unit while in a vehicle. Connect the Power Adaptor USB plug to the unit’s USB port and plug the other end to the vehicle’s 12V accessory/ cigarette socket.
9 Live T raffic Receiver Connecting to Liv e T raffic The T raffic Message Channel (TMC) is an applic ation of the FM Radio Data System (RDS) used for broadcasting real -time traffic information. T raffic data is received, decoded, and delivered to your navigation system .
10 System Connections Inserting SD Card The unit is designed with an SD Card slot which allows y ou to insert an SD card into the unit as shown below: T o remove the card, gently press the card in with your fingernail. The card unlocks and protrudes slightly .
11 System Connections USB Mode When you connect the GPS device to a com puter with USB cable, a menu appears on screen for setting the USB Mode, as shown below . Y ou can set the USB mode to determine how the device behave when it was connected to a computer .
12 Using The Mounting Bracket A suction cup mount is provided for attach ing the GPS unit to the windshield or the dashboard. Assemble the bracket and cradle as shown below and then attach the GPS to the cradle. 1. Fig. 1 Slide the mount cradle onto the end of the mount bracket.
13 General Setup System Main Menu When in navigator , tap Exit button of the Navigation Menu to exit the application. A confirmation message appears: Are y ou sure you want exit the program? T ap Exit and the system main menu appears. In the main menu, there are four items for selecting.
14 General Setup Setup Menu In the main menu, tap to enter the Setup menu, the screen will display as below: In the Setup menu, tap to return to the main menu. Language T ap in the Setup menu to enter Language setting menu for language selection, as shown below: T ap the , buttons to select language.
15 General Setup Date & Time T ap in the Setup menu to enter Date & Time setting menu for changing to the current time zone, date and time, as shown below: T ap the buttons to select the proper T ime Zone. T ap the buttons of Date group to change the corresponding date.

17 General Setup Pow er T ap in the Setup menu to enter Pow er menu, as shown below: The Power menu displays the unit’s battery status. The values are between 0% and 100%, where 0% means the batter y power has run out completely , and 100% represents a full battery power .
18 Playing Music The unit is designed with an SD card slot and supports MP3 and WMA format music files. T o use the music player , you will need to have an SD card with your MP3 music files preloaded. Please note that you cannot use the navigation function of the device at the same time you are using the music player .
19 Playing Music T ap button to enter the music play list menu, as shown below: When you open the play list, the sy stem will look for audio files on its SD memory card and create a play list automatically . If the play list consists of more than one scr een, t ap the up arrow for the previous page and the down arrow for the next page.
20 Photo V iewer The unit is designed with an SD card slot and supports JPEG format files playback. T o use the Photo Viewer , you will need to have an SD card with y our JPEG picture files preloaded. Please note that you cannot use the navigation function of the device at the same time you are using the Photo Viewer .
21 Photo V iewer Viewing Photos In the folder menu, double tap the memory card icon, and the photos stored in the memory card will be listed on the screen. In the photo list, double tap a photo to display it on the LCD screen. Y ou can also tap a photo to select it and then tap to display it.
22 Photo V iewer Using the slide show T ap in the photo list screen to enter the Setting menu for setting the Slide Show . Y ou can set the slide show on or off to determine whether or not to play photos in slide show mode. When the slide show is on, y ou can set the interval between tw o photos during slide show .
23 T roubleshooting Before contacting customer service, review the step s below to solve simple problems. If you still suspect something wrong w ith th is unit, immediately turn the power off, disconnect the power connector from the unit, and contact Next ar Customer Service.
