1 1 Chapter 1 Introduction The UPort 1 1 10 and th e UPort 1130 are USB-to-seria l adaptors, an easy way to add a COM port to your system. The UPort 1 1 10 provid es one RS-232 port and the UPort 1130 provides one RS-422/RS- 485 port.

2 2 Chapter 2 Installation and Configuration Installation of the adaptor is a simple process. Fi rst install the driver , then plug the adap tor into a USB port. When the adaptor is plugged in, W indows will load the correct drivers for the adaptor and the new COM port.

Y ou may also download th e drivers at www .moxa.com . The installation procedure is the same for all W indows operating system s.

A window will pop up cau tioning you that this software has not passed W indows logo testing . This is a standard warning, and Mox a has thoroughly tested the dr iv er for safe W indows operation.

On W indows 2000 systems, a window will pop up cautioni ng you that this s oftware has not passed W indows logo test ing. If you see the following screen, select No, not this time , then click Next . 3. On the next wi ndow that appears, select Install the softwar e automatically (Recommended) , t hen click Next .

UPort 1110 and 1130 User’s Manual Installation and Configuration 2-12 Configuring the COM Port After the driver and hardware have been succe ssfu lly in stalled, the new COM port will have a COM number and can be accessed and controlled just lik e your PC’ s built-in COM ports.
UPort 1110 and 1130 User’s Manual Installation and Configuration 2-13 Configuring the Adaptor If you need to change t he COM number that the ad apt or assigns to the C OM port, or adjust other advanced setting s, you may go to Dev ice Manag er and right-click the UPort adaptor, which will be listed under Multi-port serial adaptors .

Y ou may change the Port Number and enable or disable t he Fast Flush function .

No special procedu res are required t o remove the adaptor; you may simply pull the ad aptor out of the USB port. Y ou should verify that no data is being transmitted be fore removing t he adaptor .
