1-1 Chapter 1: Intr oduction Overview The MIL-SM 4804G sw itch is a stacka ble Fast Ether net switch with 48 10BA SE-T/ 100BASE-T X ports, and two 1000BAS E-T por ts 1 that operate in combinat ion with two Small Form Facto r Pluggable (SFP) trans ceiver slo ts.
Introduction 1-2 1 Switch Architect ure The MIL-SM 4804G employs a w ire-spe ed, non-bl ocking s witching fab ric 2 . Th is permits sim ultaneous w ire-spee d transpo rt of multiple packets at low latenc y on all ports. The swit ches also featur es full-d uplex capability on all ports, which effectively doubles the bandwi dth of each conn ection.
