~ It is essential to r ead these instructions . This tumble dryer conf orms to current saf et y requir ements . Inappropriat e use can, ho weve r , lead to per sonal injur y and damage to property . T o av oid the risk of accidents and damage to the tumble dryer , please read these instru ctions carefully befor e using it for the f irst time .
Technical safety ~ Befor e set ting up the tumble dr yer , chec k it for any e xternally visible damage. Do not install or use a damaged tumble dryer . ~ Befor e connecting the tumble dryer , ensure that the connection dat a on the data plat e (voltage and connect ed load) match the mains electricity supply .
Correct use ~ T o pre vent the risk of fir e, the follo wing te xtiles must not be dried in this tumble dryer: – items whic h have not been w ashed. – items , su ch as w orkwear , which ha ve not been thoroughl y cleaned and which ar e still soiled with grease, oil or other desposits (suc h as cosmetics , lotions etc).
~ The dryer must not be used without the fluf f filter s in place or if the fluf f filter s are damaged in an y w ay . ~ The f luff filt ers must be cleaned regularl y . ~ The dryer must not be used without the condenser unit in place. ~ The f luff filt ers must be thoroughl y dried af ter cleaning.
Control panel a Programme buttons F or selecting a dr ying progr amme. b Extra option buttons V arious e xtra options can be added to the drying progr ammes . c PC / Optical interface This is used b y service technicians t o run diagnostic checks on y our machine and can also be used t o update pr ogramming data in the future .
Display The displa y is used for the following: Selecting and displaying settings – Selecting diff erent drying levels (e .g. Hand iron, Normal ... ) or the dur ation of the Warm air and Cool air pr.
Menu buttons V arious set tings are made via the Menu but tons . The y are used to alt er or confirm the v alue display ed abov e the vertical line. T o alter a set ting: Cottons Duration: 1:52 h Extra dry P ressing the right or lef t hand Menu but ton selects the drying level.
When the tumble dryer is s witched on for the f irst time , the w elcome screen will appear . The w elcome screen will appear in the display e very time you switc h the machine on until you ha ve run a progr amme lasting longer than 1 hour . The displa y for set ting the language will then appear .
Care symbols Befor e drying check the drying symbol on the care label. If ther e are no symbols , dry at your o wn risk! q .........D r ya tn o r m a lt emper ature r .
Brief instructions The headings number ed ( A , B , C ...) show the oper ating sequence and can be used as a brief guide to using y our dryer . A Sort the laundry T o ensure an e ven drying result separ ate out the w ashed lau ndry and sort it according to: .
D Select a programme ^ P ress the but ton for the pr ogramme you wish t o select. The indicat or light for the progr amme selected will light up and the progr amme name will appear in the display .
E Select any Extra options / Delay start ^ Select any e xtr a options or delay st art by pr essing the appropriate but ton (see "Extr a options" and "Delay start" for mor e details). F Start the programme The indicat or light for the Start/Stop but ton will flash when a pr ogramme is being selected.
– It is not possible to select the Short and Low t emperatur e options at the same time. – Not all the e xtra options ar e suitable for use with e very progr amme. Low temperature F or dr ying delicates and f abrics with the r symbol on the car e label at a low er temper ature .
With dela y star t you can c hoose when you w ant the progr amme to end. T he start of a progr amme can be delayed from 30 minut es up to a maximum of 24 hours , allo wing you t o make use of night-time economy electricity r ates , for e xample. To select delay start A Select the progr amme you w ant and then press the m but ton.

Hygiene programmes In the Hygiene pr ogrammes the t emper ature is held constant for a longer period of time to deactiv ate micr o-organisms , e .g. germs or house dustmites and also redu ce the number of allergens in the laundr y . These pr ogrammes should not be int errupted as this would pre vent the micro-or ganisms from being deactiv ated.
Once a programme has started - changing the programme Y ou cannot change t o another progr amme once a progr amme has started (this pr ev ents u nintentional alter ations). If an at tempt is made to c hange a selection, Option not possible will appear in the display .
Emptying the condensed water container The condensed w ater will be collect ed in the condensed w ater container unless the appliance has been set up to dr ain via thedr ain hose (see installation). Empty the condensed wat er container af ter e very drying progr amme.
Cleaning the fluff filters The f luff which is cr eated by the drying process is collect ed by the fluf f filt ers in the door and the door opening. Clean the filt ers af ter each drying progr amme*. Cleaning them whilst dry Tip: Y ou can also use a v acuum cleaner to r emove the f luff .
Cleaning them with water If there is a gr eat deal of compacted fluf f on any of the filter s , the y can be remo ved and cleaned under hot running wat er . ^ Open the door and pull the fluf f filter out of the door as described pre viously . The two filt ers in the door opening can also be remo ved if you need t o clean them with w ater .
Cleaning the tumble dryer Disconnect the tumble dryer from the mains electricity supply . Miele br anded cleaning and conditioning produ cts are av ailable to order fr om your Dealer , the Miele Spar e P ar ts Department or via the internet on www .miele-shop.
Cleaning the condenser unit Deter gent residue , hair and f ine fluff from the dryer can get thr ough the fluf f filt ers and block the condenser unit. Dust fr om the room in which the dryer is installed can also get int o the condenser unit and cause a blockage .
^ P ull the condenser u nit out of its housing by the handle . Checking the condenser unit ^ Hold the condenser unit up to the light as shown . ^ Check t o see if there is any fluf f inside it. The arr ows in the illustr ation above indicate wher e to look.
^ Then f lush the u nit through fr om the front. ^ Check the condenser unit again f or any visible f luff and if necessary flush it through ag ain u ntil it has all gone. ^ Remo ve any soiling still visible inside the housing unit by hand using a damp cloth.
With the help of the f ollowing not es , minor f aults in the performance of the machine , some of whic h may result fr om incorrect oper ation, can be put right without contacting the Service Department.

Other problems Problem Possible cause Remedy The drying process goes on too long or even switches off. In some circumstances, Clean out airways still appears, even though the filters are clean. Please check all the possible causes and switch the dryer off and then back on again.

Changing the lamp Disconnect the tumble dryer from the mains electricity supply . ^ Open the door . Y ou will find the int erior lamp cov er at the top of the drum aperture . ^ Insert a suitable tool, su ch as a wide bladed scre wdriver , under the side edge of the lamp cov er as illustrat ed.
In the ev ent of any faults whic h you cannot remedy y ourself , please cont act – your Miele dealer or – the Miele Service Department (see back co ver for contact det ails).

Installation site , Make sur e the dr yer door can be opened without hindr ance aft er installation. Building under a continous worktop / in a kitchen run This tumble dryer is speciall y designed for installation under a continuous workt op run in a fit ted kitchen.
Aligning the appliance ^ T urn the 4 screw f eet to adjust the dryer to the corr ect height and lev el. Longer scre w feet are a v ailable as an optional accessory . Unscr ew and remo ve the feet supplied with the dryer before f itting the longer scr ew feet.
Matching the fascia panel to the height of adjacent drawer fronts The f ascia panel can be aligned with the dr awer fr onts by adjusting the spacer bars . ^ Using a sock et spanner , turn clockwise or anti-cloc kwise u ntil the requir ed height is reached.
Fitting the front panel The appliance fr ont can be fit ted with a door panel to matc h other kitchen units . If fit ted in a Miele kitc hen, the door panel can be order ed pre-drilled with the necessary fixing holes . If fit ted in a non-Miele kitc hen, a suitable panel will ha ve t o be drilled to suit b y a qualified kitchen f it ter .

Fitting a plinth facing The g ap bet ween the low er edge of the tumble dryer plinth and the floor can be closed up using a suitable kitc hen furniture plinth f acing. The tumble dryer plinth has a special groo ve in which a plinth f acing can be fit ted.
External condensed water outlet General notes When drying is in progr ess , condensed w ater is pumped into the condensed w ater container thr ough the dr ain hose at the back of the dryer . The condensed w ater can also be dr ained off directl y if the dryer is installed near a sink, dr ain outlet etc.
External drainage via a sink or gully ^ See "F ront vie w" illustration. , If you w ant to dr ain the w ater off into a sink y ou will need to secure the hose carefull y , e.g . b y t ying it to a tap t o make sur e it cannot slip during use.

Confirm lock code 250 Back A OK ^ Conf ir m the lock code b y pressing the right hand Menu but ton under OK or , if y ou have made a mist ake , pr ess the lef t hand Menu butt on u nder Back A . The f ollowing will appear in the display: X Lock code activated.
Buzzer The buzz er has t wo volumes . Normal (F actory def ault) The buzz er sou nds at the end of a progr amme. Loud The buzz er sou nds at maximum volume at the end of a progr amme. A tick L will appear beside the option to sho w that it has been set.
