It must only be used as specified in these oper ating instructions for cleaning domestic dishware and cutlery .

Chil dren should be supervised t o ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Keep small childr en away from the appliance at all times to avoid the risk of injury .

IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 11 Do not sit or lea n on the opened door . This could cause the dish‐ washer to tip and be damaged, and you could get injur ed. Dishes can be very hot at the end of a progr am. Allow them to cool until they are comfortable enough t o handle before unloading.

Before using for the first time 16 Opening the door P ull the handle t o open the door . If the door is opened during operation, a ll functions are aut omatically interrupt‐ ed.
Before using for the first time 17 Before using the appliance for the first tim e, you require: – Domestic dishwasher deter gent – Rinse aid formulated for domestic dishwashers Every dishwasher is test ed at the fac‐ t ory . There will be residual wat er in the appliance from this t est.
Before using for the first time 18 Add rinse aid only until it is visible in the opening. The rinse aid reservoir holds appr ox. 3.7 o z. (110 ml). Close the flap firmly so that it clicks int o place. Otherwise water can ent er the rinse aid reservoir during a pr o‐ gram.
Before using for the first time 19 Setting the rinse aid dosage Y ou can adjust the rinse aid dosage for best r esults. The rinse aid dosage is set in stages fr om 0 t o 6.
L oading the dishwasher 20 Tips Remove coarse food residues fr om the dishwar e. There is no need t o rinse items under runni ng water! Do not wash it ems soiled with ash, sand, wax, grease, or paint in the dishwasher . These will damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 21 Items not recommended for dish‐ washing – Wooden cutlery, cutting boar ds and dishwar e or it ems with wooden parts – Craft it ems, antiques, valuable vases, and decor ative glasswar e – Plastic items which ar e not heat-re‐ sistan t: the high temper atures in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape.

Use the upper bask et for small, light‐ weight and delicate items such as cups, saucers, glasses, dessert bowls, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 27 Adjusting the upper basket In order t o gain more space for taller it ems the upper basket can be adjust ed on three levels with 3/4" (2 cm) be‐ tween each level. The upper basket can also be set at an angle with one side high and the other side low .
L oading the dishwasher 28 Lower bask et F or larger and heavier items such as plates, serving platters, saucepans, bowls, etc. Glasses, cups and small items such as saucers can also be placed in the lower basket. Do not place thin, deli‐ cate glasswar e in the lower basket.
L oading the dishwasher 29 Cutlery Cutlery tray (depending on model) Arr ange the cutlery in the tr ay as shown. T o make unloading much easier , cutler y shou ld be grouped in zones, one for knives, one for forks, one for spoons, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 30 Cutlery basket (depending on model) The cutlery basket can be placed any‐ wher e on the fr ont rows of spikes in the lower basket. T o avoid the risk of injury, knives and forks should be placed with the han‐ dles upwards in the basket.
Operation 31 Detergent O nly use deter gents formulated for domestic dishwashers. Refer to the manufactur er's packaging as t o whether T ab products are suitable for the water har dness level in your area. Please note that the cleaning and dry‐ ing results of T ab detergents can vary greatly .
Operation 32 Adding detergent P r ess the opening catch on the de‐ ter gent dispenser . The flap will spring open. The flap is always open at the end of a pr ogr am.
Operation 33 T urning on T urn on the water supply if it is turned off. Open the door . Mak e sure the spr ay arms are not ob‐ structed. T urn the dishwasher on with the button. The indicator light ne xt to the progr am select ed will come on.
Operation 34 Starting a progr am S tart the progr am by closing the door within four seconds of the last press of a button. The progr am will begin. If you do not close the door within four sec onds, the indicator lights of the selected pr ogram and the time display will flash.
Operation 35 Energy management T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically 10 minutes af‐ ter the last time a button has been pressed or 10 minut es after the end of the progr am (see "Options - Optimize Standby"). P r ess the button to switch the dishwasher back on.
Operation 36 T urning off At the end of a pr ogram: Open the door . The dishwasher can be switched off at any time using the button. T urning the dishwasher off during a pro‐ gr am st ops the progr am. T urning the dishwasher off during the delay star t time will also stop the pr oc‐ ess.
Operation 37 Interrupting a progr am The progr am will be interrupted as soon as you open the door . After four seconds, the indicator light of the selected pr ogram and the time dis‐ play will flash. P r ess the progr am selection button and close the door within four sec‐ onds.
Options 38 Short The Short option reduces the dur a‐ tion of progr ams in which this option is available. In order t o achieve optimum cleaning r esults, consumption r ates ar e in‐ creased with this option. Open the door . T urn the dishwasher on with the button.
Options 39 T urning off the refill indicat or If you consistently use a T ab detergent, you can deactivate the r efill indicator if you wish. Open the door . T urn the dishwasher off with the button, if it is turned on. P r ess the progr am selection button , and, simultaneously switch the dishwasher on using the button.
Options 40 Delay Start Y ou can set the start time for a pro‐ gr am, e.g., t o take advantage of night time electricity rat es. The start time can be delayed between 30 minutes and 24 hours. The delay period is shown in 30 mi‐ nutes incr ements for a delay period be‐ tween 30 minutes and 9 hours 30 mi‐ nutes.
Options 41 Open the door if you need t o check how long the delay period has left to run. The time up until the progr am starts will count down in the display in hours for dur ations above 10 hours, and in mi‐ nutes for dur ations below 10 hours.
Options 42 Buzzer tones A sequence of audible tones will sound at the end of the pr ogr am or if there is a fault. The buzzer at the end of a pr ogram and the warning buzzer in the event of a fault will sound 4 times at intervals with a short pause between each set.
Options 43 Optimize Standby "Optimize Standby" is activat ed by de‐ fault. T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically a few minutes after the last time a button has been pressed or aft er the end of a progr am.
Options 44 F actor y default settings If you have alter ed any settings from the fact ory default, you can reset them back to the factory default settings as follows: Open the door . T urn the dishwasher off with the button, if it is turned on.

Cleaning and care 48 Filter system The filter system in the base of the wash cabinet pr events food fr om being redeposit ed on dishes. It also protects the circulation pump fr om damage caused by foreign objects. This dishwasher must not be u sed without all the filters in place! Collection of coarse soil may cause the filt ers to clog.
Cleaning and care 49 T o clean the inside of the filter , the flap must be opened: P r ess catches together in the di‐ rection of the arr ows as shown, and open the filter . Rin se all the filters under running wa‐ ter . Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
